Yes I do have linked addresses. Natwest/Abbey linked my address when I moved, because I told them.

I told Jacamo my old address as well.

Thats why! He is like a stranger and to lenders that suggests he is hiding from his past - technically they are right lol.

See what I mean though? You had back up with old addy - he doesn't so he will get a 99% decline rate!

can i still get added to the electoral role at my last address even though i dont live there anymore?

to be honest my credit history is bad at my mums address, when i moved out i decided not to apply for anything and to use the if i cant afford it then i dont need it thinking, that went ok but then we had a baby in december and i decided i should start getting my credit sorted so i can maybe buy a house in the next couple of years.
But when i applied for things they only asked for last 3 years of addresses so i dont think they could make the link. i've not really deliberatly tried to hide it but would rather they didnt see it lol.
when i started renting my first place they did a credit check because i had to show them a certificate to show a ccj as satisfied but that doesnt show on my credit file either:confused:

Mate just stay hidden - trust me. wait til the summer, complete voters forms when they come through the post and then wait til you've got 2yrs address history as some lenders only ask for previous 2 years.

If you now use the link then old debt will come back to haunt you and you've got a 6yr wait then plus the risk of DCA's coming after you.... trust me stay low (underground) :T

Egg is weird, try them and see! I got declined twice lol

It tells you immediately and if not, you click apply again (it doesnt make you apply) and it picks up your result and says yes or no!

They are hard to get as well, pointless if you have bad credit file IMHO

What other card companys use tesco's way??

so are all limit increases allways soft searches and what does this mean
[ Your income etc doesn't come into it for decision purposes, increments ]

Mate, you're not listening to me properly....

All RBS group work this way, so try Mint or Barclays as they may accept you. Even Amex may.

Soft searches are only done this way if the lender is happy with your account conduct. Its not a given right. But tesco do work differently - so when you ask for increase there is no search but Virgin (MBNA) would show as a credit search - reason: Credit limit increase

    follow me?

Tesco shows as Unrecorded Enquiry - reason: Verification

Exactly mate - but unless he has actually lied then N Hunter cannot get involved. Say for example they asked for his address and he just said 3yrs from the day he moved in, then they'd never know (unless previous tenant had credit etc and was showing on electoral roll)

A good example is students. They get credit but have no address links, they stay for a year and move away hardly ever registering on voters roll so how do they get credit?

    Easy

Confuse the system and just dont lie too much and use any old shared house address as a previous. Then add a correction notice saying you were a skint student who didn;t want to pay council tax so you didn;t register.

lenders then look at this in its own merit.
