I applied for Capital One in November & was declined. I am wondering if it is worth applying to them first as they will likely check my equifax however last time they searched both!!!! I am just trying to utalize my searches to the best possible way

I applied in November as was declined but then re-applied in January and was accepted. I couldn't believe it. The only thing that had changed with regards to my circumstances was that I was now on the electorol roll.

    So re-apply and good luck...
  • Hi, Can anyone help me. I receved a big fat NO letter after applying for a Post Office CC. I want to write and appeal but I have mis-placed the letter - does anyone know the address to write to? Tried googling but no joy! thank you.

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Hi all!

My hubby has decided to try and rebuild his credit score, we are not financially linked, and had an old desualted debt which he is paying off at an agreed amount each month...no missed payments on that.

He has applied for a basic bank account with Barclays, awaiting decision, although i cant see why they would say no..all previous banking has been done through my account.

I advised him to apply for a Vanquis card to help build up some nice '0' on his credit file;)....which did online Saturday morning, and got the 'we need to look into you application and get back to you withing 10-14days' message. They phoned up last night at 7.45pm but he was putting littluns to bed so missed the call, and they have just called again about 25mins ago..and now he's at work! lol

I spoke to the gentleman calling and what brief details i could gleam from him, data protection act and all that lol, was that he was from the aquasitions (?sp)dept, and they like to call new customers etc....so....

Do you think he's been approved? Do they usually call up and chat , I don't remember that happening to me with them..(i've had my card for a few yrs and limit now at £2000).

It would be great for him if they have!!

    TIAx

no i dont. But this course is job related and can progress my career.

RBS and Co-op both do them loans but might pop into my local branch to have a chat.

Get a city and gaulds level 3 at the end of it in the subject.

    Hi Fairmorn,

I was just wondering if you have looked at the OU for the course your after?

It's just with the baby due shortly I am assuming you would qualify for Child Tax Credit and Working Tax credit therefore possibly being able to qualify for financial support - maybe having your course paid for or at least some help towards the cost.

I am currently studying with them and have my courses paid for, a grant per academic year of £255 and I also qualified for a computer grant of £245. I work 30hrs a week and have 2 kids..so I would say it would be worth a try
 Debts: Capitalone £0, Vanquis £220, LX Direct £1197, Mutual £1107, JD Williams £23
