hi sutton
thanks for that, thats the thing that confused me, i dont get a cheque guarantee card or od but it is a normal visa debit card not an electron so i assumed it would be a 'normal' account?
i'll apply for the vanquis now.0 -
The defaults and CCJs will stay on your credit file for 6 years however I think that you should apply for the vanquis card because it for people with bad credit.
I had defaults on my credit file and no CCJ s and I got a Capital one, Aqua and Vanquis credit card. My defaults have now been removed from my credit file and I am no longer subprime. I have managed to get a interest free overdraft and a credit card with low APR.
I also think that you should check your credit file and start to repair it.

Yes it's a normal account if you have a Visa debit.
I know of somebody you has a Visa debit and NO cheque guarantee also.
Keep us informed of your progress. You will probably get a message saying "we will contact you in 7-10 days". If you are successful you will most like receive a telephone call advising you on APR, credit limit trying to sell you PPI and wanting to transfer some cash into your banking account.

If you have no luck with vanquis then I would give the JD williams group of catalogues a go. They appear to be very easy to get and if run well can give your credit rating a boost. Also, if you have run up a few searches on your experian file then switch to equifax by applying for something like the Barclaycard initial or even flybe if your equifax file looks okay.
If you have no luck just run a catalogue account for 6 months and then try again.

JD Williams (Jacamo) is easy to get as I've got one. :rotfl:
As Dolally says JD Williams is worth ago. They also increase there limits quickly.0 -
yes - but word of warning.
I have 6 of these catalogues.... thanks to their 'ever so generous' limit increases I am now on a DMP

Ulster Bank has upped my limit to £1900. Which is nice. They seem to do it very gradually and are not keen on big jumps.0
