    well i work offshore in the drilling side. But i hurt my back out in russia last september and i decided to make a change in the oil industry and join the company my partners dad works for. but i know the work they do and always said i could never do it but due to the position i was with my back i thought it was the only way. now my back is better am hating the thought continuing with this new job. they dont tell you when your away etc etc. long story. am sure i will get a talking 2 from her dad about me leaving this weekend :(

    due to whats going on in the world it is hitting the oil industry and there stopping drilling etc etc but i have contacted 5 different agencies so fingers crossed will get something next week.

    You worked in Russia, i was going to go to see United play in Moscow last May but i couldn't quite get the money together.

    What was it like out there?

    cold and very rubbish. i was working at the artic circle offshore there. was in moscow to fly home. very posh hotels but thats about it

    Was it for a petrol company like BP or Shell?

    I can image the working conditions to be harsh.

    Here is something for you all; did you know that the Geordie accent is one of the few remaining English languages that contain strong references to old English?

    I love the Georide accent. Most of you guys are so friendly, when i used to be with Orange some years back, i would always come through to Durham call centre.
