Yea, so it seems that the best way to win an appeal is to be honest or blag them with bollox? I told the truth and I know they searched the SIA cos I told them my employers 'local' address but the forms they sent me to sign has the head office payroll dept address which is in Uxbridge yet I work 200 miles away and use my local office as my employer.

Maybe this is what caused the cifas warnings against me then, hmmmm the plot thickens

Did you get a 3k limit? On benefits, nice one!
I have only appealed the Ulster Bank refusal and was only given a £500 limit which now stands at £1450 2 years later and will be increased again next month

    What's SIA?

look at my letter of appeal mate - further up the post

Its a licence you get when you do security...... it confirms you been vetted etc so they tend to trust you cos its hard to get license if you haven't actually done what you say cos they check everything for last 5yrs.

Look at the link i posted, in appeal letter.
    :o 2010 - year of the troll :o

In the last 6 months I've applied for RBS basic cc, Barclaycard Clear a First Direct account and most recently MBNA. Only since joining this forum did I find out about Equifax Experian etc. CIFAS And Hunters are very new to me so its possible they have something on me but god knows what as I have been scrupously honest on all applications.

Vanquis should be ok as I've been with the provident for years I'll let you all know how that go's as well as any info I gather from CIFAS etc.

Regards and thanks all for the kind responses.

They went on about how they not only rely on credit refernce agencies but use customer profiling and on this information they regret etc etc.

So it was suggesting something else rather than your credit file.

Yes it would seem so, it may be something as simple as not ticking all the right boxes for them i.e salary etc or it may be something more sinister ie CIFAS etc. With experian credit report (who manage National Hunters btw) they list any cifas reports and on mine it says no information held.

    Regards

CIFAS aren't obligated to tell you on your credit file.

You can write to them and do a SAR and pay a £10 fee. Then they have to tell you.

N Hunter i believe it's managed by Experian. See here. You can also do a SAR request with them.
