Sure you will be ok if you empty the contents into a small see through bag first , make sure you can seal it though as you may upset other passangers:D

On one of the airline pilots sites a pilot was complaining that security had been told not to let tuna in hand baggage because it was in liquid,the pilot had his tuna sandwiches confiscated!
