Now I've just gone and arranged for a dvd and pizza night at mine for me and my friend tom evening. It's a sort of we don't need guys type event. The break up went as well as can be expected, very civil actually. But now I'm faced with having gone over budget and a pizza night!
OR, I have dvds here, and I could always make pizzas with random stuff i have in the house. How do you make a nice pizaa sauce?

Meant to say, the washing thing sounds good - I am definitely going to do that when I sort out my washing machine! Cheapy powder + soda crystals = happy PennyGrabber!!
Off now for a drink of water!

Penny Grabber - for the pizza sauce I just used some tomato passata (44p from lidl). Or you could try tomato puree.
Re the washing powder/liquid. I use half the recommended amount but don't bother with soda crystals. Washing seems to be coming out fine!
Popped into the local co-op around 8pm tonight but the whoopsies were rubbish. I wonder if they really want things to sell because they only knock a few pence of things.Mortgage Free in 3 part 2 challenge - pay off £9000

PennyGrabber-If you feel lazy Iceland do decent pizzas(their own)for £1 each and they also have the small twinpack of Chicago town ones on offer for £1 at present! Way cheaper than "ordering" a pizza.
When I make mine I use tomato puree and a it of value bolog sauce then I add cheese and herbs or whatever I want to use up. Sometimes its a baked bean pizza.Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0 -
If you have a cook-in curry sauce, fry an onion in a splash of oil, add a diced carrot and then any bits of veg that are going limp in the bottom of the fridge. You don't need much more. Maybe one leek and half a head of broccoli. Then tip in a can of chickpeas in their water. Simmer until the veg starts to tenderise and then put the curry sauce on top. Swish out the jar with some warm water. This makes quite a nice veggie curry and costs hardly anything. Serve with rice0

I just blew my February GC by placing an online order with Asda, darn it, but i am hereby stating that i am going to approach my GC annually, even though i will still be attempting to spend within a fixed amount each month...it's just that when i see the really good offers that will save me money in the long run, i have to take advantage of them. I'm hoping to spend no more than £3,600 form the beginning of January to the end of December. This will cover food, pet food, toiletries, cleaning products etc. It equates to almost £70 a week but included in that amount will be things like christmas food shopping, birthday party food for the kids and birthday cakes and things like that. Hopefully i will be able to get it lower than that but i am trying to build up a bit of a stockpile for the leaner times ahead which may befall me some little way down the road.
Is there a thread specifically for an annual grocery challenge?Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

Well, I have spent a grand total of £51.11 this week, up until Friday, but I will have to go shopping for the week today - we have a busy weekend, then I am working all day Monday and TUesday, whilst OH looks after the children. So, I need to stock up for them. Then on Tuesday we have relatives coming for a few days. I am anticipating failure with this month! Can't see how I will do it.
Certainly I need to sit down and do some serious menu planning. And after half term we will be on short rations for the rest of the month!
Also, to cap it all, OH, bless, is going to cook me a Valentine's meal tonight. Which means he will be going to the supermarket this afternoon, with DS in tow, to stock up for that. AAGGHH!
