Had to go to MrM's this morning for dh for some cakes for work and ended up spending £8.84 on extra stuff....in my defense I did get a whoopsied fr chicken for £4.75 (large) which has meant I can take the one I had booked to come on my MrS delivery tomorrow (which would probably have been more like £8-£9) and also got fishfingers on offer (my twins love em) and a cheap 89p cream cake for dh birthday today...so not too bad

    Have updated sig...

  • Finally caught up on all the posts!!! Thanks to whoever updated us with the 'super-six'!! (sorry it seems way back and I now can't remember!!)

Well by my accounts 7 nsd's in a row - a huge breakthrough for me!! Well technically I did get some milk at the weekend but BIL paid for it so I'm still gonna count it as a nsd!!!

But instead spent £20.65 yesterday. OH was home on mon and tues cause of the snow so I went through the freezer a bit!!!

Nearly half way through my month (23-25th!!) and still have £27.17 will have to head to Aldi's this week though for some grapes and potatoes - ds also loves mousey crisps (a bit like pom-bear but half the price) from there too!!

Anyway just off to update my sig, and cook dinner for ds and dd!!

    Lucky dog!!

I'm thinking seriously about getting an extra freezer as my local Co-op reduces things every night to 5p and last night I could have gotten about 10 loaves of bread for 5p each, but nowhere to put them. If anyone sees any great deals on small chest freezers, please let me know?

Got a huge vat of bolognese sauce on the go in the SC, 750g mince ( part of MrT 3 meat for £10 offer) with half a small bag of red lentils, good scoop of porridge oats, and of course veggies, that should easily make dinner for 3 nights for 3 adults, with some left over for the freezer - mini challenge for myself to see exactly how far I can stretch it out!

what kind of time do your coop reduce there items?? just wondered as i never see any so though if i tried the same kind of time - you never no......mine might do it the same time??
Got two chicken kievs for a £1 yesterday which was good find for me :p and were yummy for my dinner last night.

Well checked the pork had defrosted for the casserole and what was an absolute waste of money it was. Got it as part of a meat pack, guess what all fat and no meat.
The idea i had was to make a pork casserole for dinner tonight, then roast a couple of joints for sandwich meat, dinner etc tomorrow.

Instead i had to use ALL the joints and "chunks" in the casserole. So that was £20 wasted, never meat packs again, bad quality meat.I was aiming to spend £50 maximum a week instead i will prob go well over due to the rubbish butchers.

Just had to buy more milk and raisins for the kids pack lunches as they found the others.

So be careful if your buying from butchers make sure you check your packs!!!

    .

TYhey seem to do it in stages, first ones at 5pm about half to a third of the price, and then around 7pm onwards to 5p. No idea if it's a store specific thing or company policy though?

Hi Kezlou ;):p I know who you are now!!

  • Well, after us missing all the snow up here in Western Scotland it looks like it has found us - been snowing all afternoon with more forecast tonite, tomorrow and over the weekend, so i made the executive decision to get a small shop in today, rather than leaving it to Saturday or Sunday as planned and being snowed in. (we live in the sticks so is a possibility, and no home delivery to where we live:()

So I went to Somerfield and spent £35.31, have enough to do us until the middle of next week now, so wont do the big Tesco shop til probably Wednesday next week.

Did get a few good bargains today, 4 cans of tuna for £2.50, 5 tins of Heinz soup for £2.50, Salmons Fillets half price, 500g steak mince for £2, a family breakfast pack reduced to £1.60 (which DH is currently cooking for tonites dinner:D, with eggs and beans), robinsons juice BOGOF, pack of 4 croissants reduced to 25p, Diced Turkey breast BOGOF, (going in the slow cooker tomorrow for a casserole) plus loads of reduced veg which is currently making 2 massive pots of HM soup for the freezer. So did make a dent in the budget but think we'll be ok :o!

Really pleased today, did my 1st shop of the month & only spent £49.71. I will be getting some meat at the weekend, but hopefully will not be going anywhere near a supermarket until next Wednesday.
