Hiya Elizabunny

The last time I went to Farmfoods the milk was 33p litre, I'm going back when the weather clears because we have already gone through 16 litres of the 31 that I bought for February  However after my frozen veg experience I'm not assuming anything re prices and will check it out first.0

Ooops forgot to join in when the first of the month arrived..
MrsM can you add me to the list please hon, I'm doing £200.00 this month. I'm also going to be putting down how much I spend on extras too as I am sure I spend way too much of my own money (extras aren't included in the shopping budget as hubby pays that!) Oooh I hadn't thought of using the foil containers for my casseroles/bolognese. I normally use my click and lock but I am running out of them and it is working out expensive to get new ones. Think I will get some of the foil containers - I am sure Costco sell them so will add them to the basket in March when we go

Thanks carolt2, Will have a good look through those links later, and might just order from them. My local butcher isnt that brilliant im afraid, his sausages contain the same amount of meat as you would get fom the supermarket (unless you buy the supermarkets finest range), and he doesnt do free range chickens either.
Someone was telling me I should go to a large market which is in Lanark, so, I might do that however, it is quite abit away from me and Im not that good at driving to places I dont know, and hubbie cant take time off work.
Will need to go shopping later, so will update my spends later.

Morning all.
Popped to the Coop yesterday (and ended up in Tesco too as Coop had no bread)- this was basically cos our weather is meant to turn at the end of the week, and I normally do a shop on a Friday! Anyway it means I have spent slighty more than 1/53rd of my yearly budget this week (we have a 53 week year ), but that is fine as I had built up a wee reserve in the first weeks- the remaining reserve is just a very tiny one now. I will still take my weekly money on Friday as normal, but won't be spending as much straight away as I normally would due to this mid-week shop
.
Did manage to get whoopsied bread, rolls, muffins (frozen now) in Tesco and line caught cod (frozen now) and Pork Chipolatas (Coop equivalent of Finest- frozen now) in Coop :T :T.
Anyway, as a result of going yesterday my cold is back with a vengeanceso today will be a NSD.
Re the 'milk top up shops', I used to buy Cravendale Milk, which keeps for longer, to avoid popping out for milk. I don't do this anymore though as it costs about £1.80 for 2L here, compared to local milk at £1.29 per 2L carton (or 75p per 1L carton), a big price difference. Also I like to take DS out a walk too, and we pop to the shop for milk on the way. This fits in with our lifestyle and I realise not everyone can get out a walk every second or third day. We keep a couple of UHT cartons for emergencies (mainly cooking as we don't really like it for much else, actually lol its only DH/DS who drink the milk as I only have it on cereal and in cooking) but I never freeze milk as its yuck (recently re-tried it, when a carton burst on the floor and was trying to salvage the rest, and it only convinced me even more it is yuck!)
Ok, better get moving toward bathroom.
Well done so far everyone.

Lucky dog!!
I'm thinking seriously about getting an extra freezer as my local Co-op reduces things every night to 5p and last night I could have gotten about 10 loaves of bread for 5p each, but nowhere to put them. If anyone sees any great deals on small chest freezers, please let me know?
Got a huge vat of bolognese sauce on the go in the SC, 750g mince ( part of MrT 3 meat for £10 offer) with half a small bag of red lentils, good scoop of porridge oats, and of course veggies, that should easily make dinner for 3 nights for 3 adults, with some left over for the freezer - mini challenge for myself to see exactly how far I can stretch it out!Trying very hard to be frugal and OS - just plodding on and doing my best!
