This has to be the lowest I have spent on my weekly shop in ages. Shopped online at Mr A's and spent £72.42.
Most expensive thing was my diced beef for stew on sunday, but seeing as it's really cold and supposed to snow I figured it would be a nice winter warmer.I used to suffer from lack of motivation.... now I just can't be arsed.

Hi PennyGrabber - You could try this Belly Pork recipe, really simple as it all goes in one tray and very tasty, there's probably loads more in the Complete Index, look on the first page of this Thread where all recipe links are stored.;)
Thanks MRSMC for the Corned Beef Hash recipe, really scrummy and just what we need in this weather, we all loved it and there is a little bit left which I will make into an individual Pie for DD1, the rest of us are having HM Bacon and Egg pie which she doesn't like so that solves that problem.:T
Yesterday I also made Kidney Bean Pate from Weezl's thread, you have GOT to make this as it's the easiest thing to make and so yuuuuuummmmmyy.:D
Hope you all have a good day.;)"WASTE NOT, WANT NOT!"GC for OH, myself, DD18 & DD16 includes Toiletries, cleaning stuff & Food.

Woohoo! It's a snow day for us as my school is shut!
This means that we will be eating food here that I hadn't budgeted for, as the children eat at the childminder's house during the week for lunch and breakfast. Still, you have to have fun once in a while!
We're going to make some cakes or biscuits - still haven't got round to Twinks, so may need to make those! And I'm just about to put a loaf into BM. I made some soup for my packed lunches this week, so may eak that out for the ch, otherwise it'll be beans on toast for lunch.
Thanks for the pork belly recipe! I can't make it this time as I don't have some of the stuff, but I shall do a similar type of thing and see how it turns out! If it's any good, I'll post it.
Have a great day all, and keep safe.

Frugal 2018 needed! Saving and NOT spending0 -
I think now that DH is being made redundant that I should really join up here.
I have no idea really what we spend but I do know that since coming to the forums I have cut the £140 pw Mr T spends. I think for me, DH, OM (old mum) and furbaby I am going to start with £350 just to see how we go.
IIRC my shopping on Sunday came to £46.50 and so fat I haven't done any nmore shopping0 -
Hello Mudgekin! Everyone is really helpful on here - certainly helped motivate us to reduce our grocery costs without feeling we were missing anything! Lots more snow here today! so not planning a trip to the supermarket today! (good as still loads needing using from freezer) Spent £9exactly on takeaway lastnight as i had a migraine so got o/h to get them to deliver his tea very naughty but better than sending him to Mr T (he'd spend £25 on dinner!!). Trying to decide on dinner now, something warming..like the idea of SCOTSAVER's bacon and egg pie, is the receipe on here? or could you share it with us? - please! Hope everyone is well and keeping warm! xAugust: £149/£150
Sept: £200

Morning all
I'm on days off now and children's school is closed due to snow. I had planned to do some baking/cooking ahead - maybe the children can help!??? Have done a Mr T online shop for tommorro - just hope they can get here if snow continues! I'll have to be really inventive if not! Have had 2 NSD - the start of the week is easy - I work two long days and half day on Wednesday's, it's the rest of the week that's the problem!
GC update Balance at 31/1/09 £238.31/£350.00

Hi dazzle21 - here is the recipe for Delia Smith's Bacon and Egg Pie, I've made it loads of times and it's really nice.
Hi mudgekin - sorry to hear about OH's redundancy, you'll find loads of tips on here that will hopefully help you to cut back on Groceries.

Whoops, I popped into Coop last night specifically for some mozerella and spinach; but they didn't have any. Rather than walking out of the shop, I bought a sticky-toffee pudding and a bottle of wine
I still managed to do the recipe without the cheese or spinach though! That's the first 'slip' I've had in 2 weeks, so I'm not too worried. About to do online shop for delivery tomorrow night (as it's cheaper than Saturday morning)0
