Long haul DFW #145 : 2011 DEBTBUSTING : £5500 OD GONE, £2000 OD - GONE £93,610.30 cc & loan debt - GONE 27.6.14 FINALLY DEBT & MORTGAGE FREE :happyhear0 -
Well done Sashanut!
Oh dear - I am declaring at £195 as against a target of £160. I thought this month would be easy being a short month. I think I got lulled into a false sense of security. I did enjoy an M&S Dine in meal last night and I have bought lots of toilet rolls and tissues on special offer so that accounts for £34 out of the £35 overspend. Oh yes - and I did keep buying special offer Easter Eggs at £1 each - so there it is! Actually the Easter Eggs were meant to be gifts for a children's charity but I kept eating them and then having to replace them
Please put me down for £160 for March and I will try again.

That's me all done for the month.... £319.47 so really pleased. My first time and I am under budget. I could have done better - we had fish and chips on thursday £9.50 for 2 fish and one bag of chips and a bun:eek:   I refused to buy any cakes or biscuits or bread - unless they were on a special offer - and so have baked my own all month yum yum!
My halo is all bright and shiny today:D .... I got home from food shopping last night (friday) and found 2 packs of meat with a use by date of thursday!!
- obviously i still need to plan more ! - but instead of throwing away (which i would have done previously) I set to and made 2 casseroles with onion, peppers, carrots, and potatoes - this was at 9 p.m. last night - so really am trying! So tonights tea is sorted with one of them and one in freezer for next month.
anyway put me down for £300 in March
Thanks to everyone for support and good luck for next month.

I failed again in feb...... but will try to do better for march  the meal planing still needs some work but cupboards and freezer are well stocked and i have started baking some treats for the kids instead of buying them. i dont know whether to try doing online shopping only this month (but my experiences with online shopping havent really been good in the past) as it seems every time i need bread or milk (we use a loaf of bread every other day and can go through 4 pints of milk a day on some days) it costs me a fortune when i go to the shops. another high cost for me are the cats, we have 3 so i might have to put an extra ten pounds into the budget for them. my meal plans seem to consist of the same things over and over again which bores us all after a while so i am going to sit down and read through some of the recipe threads and see what i can come up with. x0
