beebeeuk, do you work there or own it or something, you do seem very defensive about them. If people want to go in and ask for samples anywhere then Ii don't see a problem..the staff can always refuse

I'm not defensive just clarifying that's all. I just don't want people to assume they can walk into a shop and get samples, any old samples. It's always best to have something in mind. AND if you do have any alergies you don't want to just ask for any old sample and find you have been given something that is totally wrong for you.

    So yeah, that's all. :)

  • i walk into shops and get samples all the time, the ones that arent any good for me go to my mum or grandma or fella. you can actually walk into ANY beauty/fragrance/body products shop and ask to sample the products they carry, its really easy! :)

My friend used to work for Boots, and was always bringing the samples home because hardly anyone used to ask for them, and when they tried to give them out people mostly wouldn't accept them!

As a newbie to this site it might be good for someone (me :)) to refer you to the little sentance written at the top of the site 'Pls be nice to ALL money savers'

This means - no swearing or being rude, both of which i noticed you did in this post.

Please refrain from doing this again and the boards will be a much nicer place :)

    Thankyou.
I must say I thought scoper made a very fair point. Maybe the use of "!!!!!!" and "God" are objectionable to you, that's fair enough. Ultimately I too am rather annoyed by people who do insist on taking the mickey and freeloading as far as they can without thinking of the impact it will have on other people, to whit:
    * Moneysavingexpert.com could get a bad name for itself
    * Genuine shoppers might miss out on the chance to get samples

Also please think about it - why exact "consumer revenge" on a company that's being nice to the consumer?

All I think scoper's saying is "Don't try to screw a nice company or we'll all lose out"
  • how can having approx £6 worth of soap from a company that makes loads and then giving it to someone who buys lush anyway and who loves one of teh sampel so much she buys two oversized block of it costing £4 each, how has teh company possibly LOST out?

comapnies set aside a tax-deducitble amount of their budget secifically for giving free samples, so why shouldnt we take them?

its not rude,it doesnt take teh mickey and its not freeloading to take a few samplers here and there, i encourage more peopkle to do it. if the comapnies couldnt afford to do it they wouldnt do it would they?
