Absolutely rommers - I'm there! Like I said before, I got my silver package reduced by giving them a call but obviously could have done better.well if you keep quiet you'll end up continuing to get ripped off. I would definately ring them in the morning and would not settle for anything less than £9.99
New mantra before going to bed, 'Gold for £6.99, Gold for £6.99........'!
(If Discovery can do it, so can we)0 -
go for it Pont! let us know how you got on. No I didn't threaten to leave just said its too expensive and dropped it on their toes0

ive been with AOL for about 8 years and have my phone with them. About 3 years ago i was still paying 24,99 a month so decided to go to sky so i phones them up to cancel and they gave it me for 9.99 plus 6.99 ther phone. last year phoned them up again because i wanted anopther router as mine had bust and they wouldnt dive me one after a long heated disgussion i told them to shove it to where the sun dont shine and cancel it. Then the cancellations department when put through gave me GOLD for 6.99 and free calls and another router and credited my account with 10 pounds and apologised for the inconvenience.
I was origanally speaking to the foreign call centre who were morons and then when cancelling i was put through to the english one and thats where i got the result. so quite a saving.0 -
I have been paying £6.99 for all the above. I have been with them for over 3 years. I was out of contract at the time and they reduced my fee from £9.99 to £6.99 to retain me.
I called up to say I was going to Sky and got aol platinum for £6.99 per month with free aol talk.2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher0 -
i was paying 29.99 for aol phoned up to cancel and they offerd me it for 15.99 i told them to shove it why does it take the threat of cancelation to give the customer a better offer........i am now with sky no cap at peak times and 20 quid a month cheaper...aol in the uk are owned by carphone wharehouse so expect things to get worse for aol customers.....0

Did I just fobbed off with some lame excuse ?
Called AOL to mention how Id been looking around and noticed that I can get service cheaper elsewhere and would they do anything with my existing price plan as Ive been a member for yearssss . I got this answer
" Sorry Madam but due to your location it costs more to supply your broadband and theres nothing we can do "
Gee Im only 2 mile if that from the local exchange
And yet she then went on to offer me one of thier new packages with talk and a silly fast connection ( wasted on me as my line only supports half a meg connection speeds ) which is listed as more but I could have it for same as Im paying now ( £17.99 on silver )
So I think I shall be hunting round to see who else serves my area0
