I'm still reeling from the shock tbh - but in saying that i'll be paying no more than i did last year.

Come April I will have my 2010/11 figures and I suspect (hope) that i will be able to reduce my payments on account as I am sure my income has dropped in the last year. Fingers crossed.

Oh the joys of self employment.

It really is a vicious circle isnt it, and really hard if you take a dip in earnings although that will lessen your burden for the on account payment, I think we are in a similar situation, although we also have been doing sub contracting work and we are having 20% taken off our invoices. which has caused big cashflow problems but trying to remain upbeat because it now looks like we may have overpaid for next year!!! I so sympathise with you Lemma....you are quite an inspiration. Keep going you can do it and it will be wonderful to be on an evenish keel.
