Mudbath - you're right to be concerned. The most worrying bit is the fact that they didn't tell you - if they had done, they could have reassured you about it and said at the time that they were going to work out what had gone wrong and fix it.
Pigpen - glad you've finally had your cuddles with Tabitha
kazm & soappie - thanks for the warning about the weather!
Valli - happy birthday to your DD... I've sent a virtual pressie too!
Get well vibes to all the germy people
No flying here... stayed too late at work again today, so missed yoga, but as I appear to have sprained my wrist slightly, I don't think I'd have managed much. But I DO have to get back to it properly next week
I've been looking at the job board at work... I should do it regularly, but don't. There are a couple of things I'm interested in. One was a good sideways move, but I checked the location and it's not far from Pigpen, Triker, Ashia & JayJay, so a bit too far for me to commute :rotfl: Pity though, it would have been a good move... its in a function that I work closely with so know well, but in a part of the business that is fairly independent, so I wouldn't have ended up doing two jobs for the price of one!
I've also found a couple of others that are interesting. I couldn't do the one on the grade I'm currently on, as I don't have the technical skills, however, I think I might be able to blag my way into the more senior one, so I'm considering it. It doesn't close until Feb 16th, so I need to think about it.
And I have a call to return from a headhunter tooalthough I bet they haven't got anything decent to offer, they never seem to really understand what I do
I'm trying to decide whether to try for an early night again, or give up on that and see whether I can stay up all night like Flower did!0 -
Hi everyone, today I have been on my course, had a sleep, had dinner, hung out some washing, done some washing up, but started crying while washing up and cried for ages
so I'm not doing anymore today, apart from packing for the weekend. I always get tearful when I've overdone things, and this week has been a nightmare. I'm so glad its over. I'm looking forward to having a good rest this weekend.
Mudbath, the running club sounds really irresponsible, they def need to make changes.
Triker, just a suggestion but it would be really helpful if you took pictures of where you were parked, showing the road markings, notices, signs etc, and repark your car there (just quickly while you take the pic so you don't get clamped again!) and take a pic of that too, this can be used as evidence in an appeal or if you report the clamping company to someone.
Hope everyone who is ill/in pain/having a bad day feels better soon.

Mudbath
I think I wouldnt allow them to run if it wasnt safe. I had to pull my daughter from a cheerleading group a couple of years ago when I discovered that although it was done at the local sports centre they were doing it outside on the grass playing fields and the teacher wasnt even renting space from them. DD was being trained to be a flyer (maybe thats why she's rebelling now  ) meaning she would be on top of maybe a group 4 high - they were not using crash mats  and it didnt bear thinking about what could happen with a tumble from that height. We also used to get phone calls to say they were finishing early as it was either too hot or cold and the final straw came when she abandoned them on the car park to await their parents and went home early. DD was gutted but I could not allow her to continue.
I hope they can reassure you that they will improve their running safety so that it can never happen againMortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -
was so cross about the behaviour of the running club in losing mudbaths son I forgot to post what I had intended.
yesterday cleaned the ensuite & the downstairs loo & spent 10 mins sorting out some of the mess in the study which is now looking slightly better after 3 weeks but still pretty atrocious.
today vacuumed the study and just meant to s& s the kitchen but I used stardrops for the first time & can see why everyone raves about it - its fantastic stuff -so I cleaned the main bathroom as well0 -
Thanks everyone - they've not phoned back but I know they have clubs until 930pm so I guess they'll be phoning tomorrow. I'm off to bed. Thanks again - sometimes I just need to know i'm not over reacting xx0

DD is made up - loads of hits and virtual pressies! Thank you for your good wishes for her both there and on the thread.
'Work in progress' girl came and thanked me for the party and lift home - so that was nice - and another friend came and as we left Frankie and Benny's wanted to 'nick' a balloon.
I had asked DD to thank the waitress - they all went to thank her and so I said - that I was sure, if she asked nicely, the waitress would give her a balloon. Waitress came out with 4 (there were 4 girls altogether) ... leapt in to say that 'there you go - if you ask nicely you often find people will give you things'. Lots of girls learning there then methinks...I used to be really good at asking nicely for stuff for toddlers fundraising...
Feel very pleased with how it all went.
Oh Ds's GF was in there with her family and they came in when I was in the loo so I texted her 'What are you having'...looking at her holding her phone and gazing round the room was priceless!
gtx I 'cif' my bathroom sink and use a bathroom sponge from Wilko but I have to bleach my white, enamel kitchen sink because it is so scratched it stains readily - so I wipe it out then pour the bleach in. I have always had to bleach it since I moved here.
Oh I saw the doc in the restaurant - the one who I saw in emergency surgery when DD was unconscious (I thought she was very drowsy!) with her first asthma attack - this doc nebulised her at the surgery, called for a non-emergency ambulance (because of the nebuliser) and stayed with us (and DS) until the ambulance came about an hour after the end of surgery - and she wondered why I thought he was a fantastic GP - explained tonight...now she knows - cos she's still here!
He wouldn't let her go in a taxi in case her condition deteriorated, although after the nebuliser she was running around!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Piggers - hope you gave Tabitha a big hug from me! I had to look up tongue-tie mind (I've let a sheltered life!)
Mudders, big hugs on your shock re the running club. I'm very glad the boys are safe. But, I'm going to put in a sideways thought here. And will probably be never, ever thanked by any of you lovely flyladies ever again.
In fact, I'll probably be sent to Coventry. In which case, I'll have to put a post on the house buying/renting thread asking for details of housing opportunities...
So here goes....
Your son and his friend went 'off piste' for whatever reason. It's wrong that the trainers didn't spot that. But, it's also (and I'm saying this as lovingly and as caringly as I can) wrong that the boys weren't themselves keeping an eye on either of the adults leading the group, either at the back or the front. Or indeed, any of the other runners in their hi-vis bibs in between... Do you know what (if any) safety brief was given before the run started? You need to find that out before you go in all guns blazing.
The main thing is that nothing untoward happened to the lads. They are home safe - and that's wonderful.

Having read Soappie's I can see her point too...
It's the old giving them strategies argument ...I used to show my two, when they were little and we were in town, the shops with 'childwatch' stickers on...and I DRUMMED it into them ...if you get lost go IN TO a shop and tell a shop lady ...
when DD was separated from us in town she stood OUTSIDE Thorntons sobbing...
my theory has always been that the shop staff would help - they could phone someone.
I still ask them what they would do if...because I would just rather they did not panic and do something stupid...
The main thing is that they would stick together..Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
