Oh Triker huge hugs, just what you didn't need. Was the car legally parked, I know these private clamping companies are notorious for putting signs up where you can't see them or in tiny writing, & employing thugs to carry out the task. We had an awful firm around here not that long ago, turns out one of the 'clampers' was an ex-murderer...says it all really. Sorry I can't be of any help, but surely you can report them to someone xx“Cancer has my body but not my spirit, and I’ll continue to make jokes, not so much about cancer, but in spite of it” Irwin Barker0

Sorry can not remember who else is having trouble with a leaky / cracked toilet. I thought I would share the current situation in my downstairs toilet

The cistern had been cracked and leaking at the back for some time - weeks / months / yearsThe wall behind is soaked and the dehumidifer packed up today:mad: There is also some penetrating damp around the top of the walls that we haven't been able to find the source of yet, there are a couple of things going on outside that could be cause and I think we are just going to have to get them all fixed at once.
Anyway we are also thinking about doing more than just drying out the walls and replacing the cistern. Alongside the toilet is a passageway of the same size leading to an external door we don't use (there are 4 other external doors we do use:D ) so I'm thinking of getting the stud partition wall ripped out, the external door blocked (just from the inside at the moment, would cost too much to block up the outside as well) and creating lots of lovely storage space as well as keeping the toilet and wash basin in there.
To bring it back on topic - I didn't have to clean this toilet todayand imagine all the clutter I could banish with a nice new storage area:T :T

Sorry guys, no flying by me today, too upset, myself and Pigpen went into town earlier , less than an hour later, came back to find my car half way upa towtruck, felt that intimidated by the private parking enforcer I called 999, police useless, had to pay £250to get my car back, gutted is an understatement.:( There's also damage to my car but voice on end of mobile phone from private parking company laughed at me and put the phone down on me.
Huge hugs Triker, how awful and upsetting, and I am sure there is something lawful in place now precisly because of this... I got clamped before and charged £95 but £250  AND damages...
I have just found this on the RAC website - won't help you as you've already paid, but you might be able to ring the number and see how they can help you?
What to do if you get clamped on private land:- Ask to see the clamper’s licence. If they don’t have one, report them to the SIA on 08702 430 100. If they won’t release your car you should contact the police.
- If they do have a licence, ensure you know the name of the person or organisation to whom you are paying the release fee and obtain a written receipt.
- If you feel that the licensed clamper you have dealt with has behaved in an inappropriate way, you should take the matter up with them. However if they fail to resolve your complaint, you may have a case in civil law against them. You should contact your local Citizen’s Advice Bureau or Trading Standards Officer.
- If the clamper causes damage to your vehicle, complain to the police.
