i've looked up toilets earlier because ours has a crack and i don't trust it that much longer. he kept searching online and found a rather good deal :j
but now he's overdoing it and wants to redo the whole bathroom :D (we have one of them rather unstylish avocado coloured 70s suites  )

If the crack has been caused by accidental damage you should be able to claim for that on your buildings insurance. Depending on the insurers you might even get the cost of an entire new suite as avacado is just about unobtainable (for a good reason!)

emmb thanks for the heads up on Grand Designs, I love that show :D

    Mudders
with an attitude like that head has I would be asking the school to pay for new kit and if they refuse then get the police involved as it's theft and whoever is nicking the stuff needs to see that it will not be tolerated and is being reported to the police. I'd also put your thoughts in writing to the head, the governors and the LEA.;) ETA I see you have already written. I presume you kept the last reply from the head. I can't believe that he wrote that about child safety. Definately time to push this further, perhaps canvas opinion from other families, vote of no confidence in him?

    Evening all

firstly, condolences and hugs to sunnygirl

well we got wet this morning but I had a great turnout and they loved splashing about in the park! It was a site to behold, I can tell you! Days like this I remember why I do this job!! I also managed to clock up 90 minutes time over today which I can use at a later date :)

Having a sit for now, dinner eaten and washed up. I need to do my lunch for tomorrow and phone my friend later. Also plan to do the bathroom, study was done yesterday so it's a quickie for me tonight! Also must get DH to help me weigh my boobs!

mudbath - awful attitude of the head. How do these spineless people get in these positions amazes me

greenbee - you may remember my ongoing saga with the bin. It finally got sorted when I emailed my local councillor who was great and I now have the mobile number of the complaints guy at the council (as opposed to the contractor) who is a star and regularly phones to check it has been sorted now.

lil_me fingers crossed for the caravan thing

soappie - I also have a long weekend as I am off Friday (though not Monday!) :)
also soappie & GnB - do you get things like Venison & pheasant from the local butchers? I'd quite like to try some new recipes.

I am keen to try a 60 in 60 at some point as although we don't have a lot of clutter I bet I could improve things!!

wow, i didn't even think of that :T - cheers!
unfortunately the crack is in the bottom of the toilet itself - and my guess is it's the permanently crashing down of the toilet seat by rushing children
and 2nd unfortunately it's the one in the utility room (white) and not in the bathroom (avodaco!!!)

    dang!!!!

but thanks for thinking of me :kisses3:
  • justamum goodbye and good luck - glad you will still be flying. take care xx
jjef glad you're feeling better - dont go mad trying to catch up in the house all at once! you are probably still a bit run down.
carol fingers crossed for an easy exam tomorrow - good luck.
mudbath the head's attitude stinks - he is a disgrace to the teaching profession - I hope you are writing about him as well as the thefts - I agree you have to support your children but he is out of order - I agree with what AnW's Mum said - something needs to be done about both the thefts and him! he doesnt deserve to be in that job! And to say he cant ensure children's safety - that is appalling - he should be sacked for a comment like that! I would be writing to the gorvenors, the education authority, your local councillor, the MP, the european mp, the prime minister and the queen!!!!

Rach - glad you had fun with your Bengali ladies. I wonder if they enjoy splashing about so much because they don't often get the chance to do it? (I realise that's probably a very sweeping non PC statement and it's not meant to be - it's just an observation!).

And yes, I get my pheasant and venison from the butchers. I'm going to be v. cryptic here - remember where you used to live near the post office you directed me to to play Soappie Santa? Well, you know the nearest little train station just down the road in an easterly direction from there? If you turned right at the lights at the T-junction by the station there and head down - that's what I call the 'villagy' part of town simply because there are three butchers, two bakers and two greengrocers all in one small area! One of them, Potters, is a game butcher and that's where I get my venison and pheasant etc. from

Well I have been fluttering along this week without much wnthusiasm.

The kitchen is fine as I really keep on to of it these days (thankyou flyladies:A )
The LR needs work but I am leaving that for the weekend. The bathroom should have been painted at the weekend but the boiler broke down so OH spent some time fixing it. He managed to keep it going and the new part arrived today so thats ok.

OH has found out today that his job doesn't finish on Friday (why did they have to leave it so late to tell him:confused: ) So he has another months work with possibly March as well:j

So tonight I am baking bread, have run the WM and will be hanging it all up.
I think we will have pizza for tea tomorrow so will have to dig the pepperoni out of the freezer.

Off to do a bit of a fling - I'll try for the 60 but I usually get distracted and end up dping something entirely different:rotfl:

I'm sure that's exactly why it is, generalisation or not, that's what the translator who is a bengali woman herself (though very progressive) said anyway! They were all walking with arms round each other and laughing and joking too! :D

I know exactly where you mean but it's a bit far for me now...there must be somewhere around here, or near work!!
