Well folks - it appears that mobile rainbow are now doing some really good Feb deals - the video t&t 700 tariff with 12 months free on a 12 months contract with LGU8360 - so through quidco you would end up with £30 profit.
Knew I should have waited - especially because the phone didn't even arrive until the 3rd Feb anyway......
So it seems those January deals are creeping into February now....

3mobileshop are doing the same deal so through quidco you would get £33 profit

Thanks Anon & Gizzmo the problem is that as I usually use ~ 400mins/month, meaning using more than about 420mins a month average makes it more expensive, and the tariff is more expensive as well which if they dont pay up is another £60 a year extra.

Worse case scenario is if you don't get your cashback - as a result, it is worth going for the company that has the best terms and conditions (personally, how long do I have to claim from the date of the bill - as 3 take days/weeks to send from experience with my last deal. I also look at how much the phone is selling for on ebay - that way, you get some idea of how much you can minimise your spend (I would say loss, but as you are paying the normal line rental, as most other customers are, it is not really a loss only spending whay you hoped to get for free!).

At the moment, the LG U8360 (silver) has sold for up to £100, MOS MOS-1 £120-£130 and LG U880 Black £120-£155. Worse case scenario (assuming you have another phone and are only getting this for the minutes/texts etc to use on another phone) is £420- selling price of phone.

The mobilerainbow offering is very tempting, but it comes back to the all important question: will they pay out?

You could go for a deal on O2 of course - 250 minutes + 50 texts, both doubled for the first 6 months, also with full cashback from more dealers. In 6 months time, apply for the same again, and cut the tariff on the first one.

I tried ordering the Rainbow deals, but after a week I rang them to see where my phone was. They told me they had none in stock. I cancelled the order, simply because they couldn't even be bothered to tell me about the delay. I took the view that if they couldn't get the sale right, then I didn't hold out much hope for the cashback.

I've gone for this deal from The Mobile Outlet instead. The missus has been with them for 6 months, and has just got her first cashback cheque.

[Edit]: Almost forgot to mention that Quidco give you £30 when you use their link. So, free phone, loadsa-free-minutes & texts and £30. My sorta deal.

    Happy hunting.

Thanks, I think I will be taking that deal, as mobile rainbow have changed theirs to only 11months :<. Do you know if with The Mobile Outlet you have to send your original bill, or will a photocopy suffice.

    It says;

11.1 All cash back and half price line rental entitlements are paid in two stages; the first stage is at month 6, the second at month 12. Once you are in receipt of your sixth bill you need to forward the original bills from month 1-6 within 21 days from the bill date illustrated on your sixth bill. Where a claim is not made within this time period the cash back entitlement is lost for your 2nd due installment at month 12. To claim the second half of your cash back entitlement, forward us your 11 and 12 months bill, again this must be with 21 days from the date shown on each of these bills.

So its a pretty strict place

Yea, i think its mine to. Risk it with 400mins, and hope for the best, the opportunity to make money out of the phone company is too good to miss.

How long did it take your order to show up in quidco, because I ordered it through quidco, however it hasn’t even shown up as being tracked yet  and I am a little worried I may be in for some agro if I want to get my £30.

I understand from a previous thread on here that this bit of the T&C was claimed by the company to mean that the 11th and 12th bills needed to be sent seperately, within 21 days of each one and that they were refusing to pay out to the mse'r who had sent them together within 21 fdays of receiving the 12th bill - worth finding out for sure I suspect...
    I think....

It is interesting as I too read the other thread about them claiming you should send in m11 and m12 separately - it clearly states claim in 2 stages but then contradicts this with the 11/12 "must be within 21 days from the date on each of these bills" which implies sending separately.
