There is a forgotten, nay almost forbidden word which means more to me than any other. That word is England.

  • I was in my local corner shop today and realised to my annoyance that I had forgotten to request a £2 coin in my change. Anyway when my change was handed over - there was one there!!! I was soooooo pleased. Now safely inside jelly baby bank. Hope the rainy day doesn't come soon as these coins seem to be like gold dust in Glasgow!

My collection hasn't moved lately, so nothing to post about.

BUT have just questioned other half about the £2 coin tub on his desk which is part of the lottery syndicate he manages - apparently there is £170 in there!

I think the reason these particular coins are kept as a sort of float is because like all of us he isn't immune from their shiny allure and doesn't want to see them spent! ;)

  • I've opened a special esavings account today in which to stash my £2 cash. Even though it's nice to look in my specially made savings box and see those babies shining up at me, the thought of adding a little "interest" to the game seems like a good plan. I'll transfer the value of the coins into the account at the end of every month. At least that way I won't be able to "borrow" the money for anything else!

 What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about?
