  • I'm really enjoying being a member of the club, and saving my £2's, but I'm beginning to wonder whether I should be a member of the club or not..

My problem is that there is this lovely spreadsheet showing how much we've all saved, and I can see that it's really satisfying to see how much the club as a whole has saved. BUT what I want to do is to put all my £2's in a pot and forget about them - if I know how much is in the pot, it will tempt me to spend it and I'll know it's there! ;) - what I really want is a nice surprise when I open the pot after a year or so and find several hundred pounds.

Is it OK to stay in the club but not post or count how much I've saved?
You should beable to stay in the club whether you declare your savings or not. When you decide to open up then you can reveal to us all how much you have. There's a lot of £2.00 coins out there just waiting to hunted down and put away for a rainy day

  • Thank you Green Fingers - I'm just sorry that you won't be able to post a definative amount (the Bank of GF has over £2m deposited, in £2 coins, at various depots around the country :rotfl: - that sort of thing) in your Excel total!

Can i join your club Please :D

Saved two pound coins last year to help towards christmas then my kids Sophie and Adam bought me a lovely pink piggy bank with love you mum painted on the side :D:D:D

Just seen this and thought i'd join the club and count how much i have: i got £92 already, i'm hoping to save enough to take my kids to disneyland paris next christmas :D
  • I know this is a costly solution, but I recently spent about £25 (saved from switching my gas & electricity supplier via this site, of course) for a personal coin sorter from Maplins and then got a load of coin bags from my bank. I now encourage my grown-up family to throw loose change from pockets or overstuffed purses into it instead of leaving it lying around in their rooms, and then when a tube of coins fills up I bag it. The tubes also allow anyone to find "Change for the bus/milk/etc." easily at any time.

Now, if only I could find a Euro version for the holidays ...

I love this idea. We have a large Bells jar for any loose change that will fit - but it only ever seems to be me that throws into it.

I'd love to join this, and have already dug out the £2 from my purse. I'll need to put it somewhere I can not access it, or else the temptation to spend it may prove overwhelming at times. Particularly as on strict budget to reduce debts!
