Now up to £254! Progress is a bit slower now since I'm not leaving the house much at the moment - don't get change in coins with online shopping! But I'm still picking up the odd one or two here and there.
    £2 coin club - £282! (since 9 Feb 06)

My Golliwog moneybox came today and he's gorgeous :rotfl: He now has the princely sum of £6 in him.

Quick question though as I'm new to collecting...do you just collect as they come or do some of you actively collect by asking for them in change?

My total is up to £122 now, I don't spend much cash mainly card purchases so my saving is going very sloowwww.

I banked my coins a couple of weeks ago when it got to a £100 - so I only had 5 money bags. When I presented my bank book and the carrier bag I was carrying the coins in, the cashier quickly said "we only accept 5 bags of coins", I promptedly replied "well you're not encouraging people to save are you?" and I asked him why the limit and was told that they are trying to discourage people from using personal accounts as business accounts plus they have a small safe. I really didn't bother to say anything more, but was a bit annoyed that they are limiting what I can bank especially as I can only do this on Saturdays at the moment

Wow great total well done :T

I totally agree how annoying that is it really gets my goat especially when they only allow dd and ds 3 penny bags each

Surely all business' have business accounts and not personal accounts due to tax assessments and financial record keeping so I don't think that's a valid argument  As for having a small safe I am assuming this was a very small town or village you went to as otherwise this also seems a silly argument

OK rant over now sorry peeps :o
