Great idea - but I very rarely use cash or I just fritter it away. I bet the supermarket don't do £2 cashback!

The burglers comment - I was done many years ago when I lived in a shared house, to get to my cd's they had to go past a large teapot full of change holding open someone elses bedroom door. Left the teapot, took my cd's. My housemate was saving for an engagement ring and it had every bit of change he ever got in it so serious money. We must have had stupid burglers!

I am the same, I even pay for a pint of milk and a loaf of bread on my cc because a) I get 2% cash back b) I like to keep track of what I am spending.

DH got paid yesterday, so after mortgage, bills,cc stoozing bills etc, I paid all that was left into savings just reserving £50 for cash withdrawal, £100 for incidentals and £100 to go to Costco. Went to Costco and spent £179, straight away budget out of the window. Useless Eustace, thats what I am.

A bit miffed as well because a couple of my bargains weren't. Two Mcvities Ginger Cakes £1.38. Went home took them off my tesco shop and found they were 2 for £1.20. Grrr
    £2.00 Savers Club = £34.00 So Far

I think I know the reason there are no £2 coins out there - YOU LOT HAVE THEM!!!! Think I may have to resort to £1 coins to at least get started!!!

Yeah it's amazing, just putting them in the piggy and counting them up each month does make you think also how much you were wasting.

I put all the change from my purse at the end of the week in a jar if I manage to spend all the change or its less than five pounds then I must put the all the change in the jar plus a £5 note.

I did this last year for my Florida trip. Cashed in £100 for US Dollars in a few months. I didn't count it in case I may have been tempted to spend it.

But I did find myself breaking into £5, £10 notes if I had a £2 coin. Started becoming a little obsessive...

I thought there'd be a small amount of people that save £2 coins,i'm amazed at how many do,we started saving them in Oct 04 and saved enough for spending money in Feb 05 holiday,it's been ongoing since and has paid for another 2 holidays since Feb last year,be strong and don't spend them and you'll be amazed at how many you'll get (normally get a few week before I get paid grrrrr)
