I know if you save with Sainsbury's Bank they let you have as many e-savers as you like, so even if you already have savings with them you could have a separate "£2 pot" which your £2 coin savings could go into.
Just a thought.

Yes but nothing beats the will power of filling and watching a pot fill up with £1/£2 coins and then counting and cashing them up in the bank0 -
What a brilliant idea - please count me in as of right now (because I've just found a £2 coin in my purse!! :j )0

I use one of these tins that you can't get into without a tin opener: http://www.yellowmoon.org.uk/showitem.asp?fldCatID_1=36&fldImgID=5148
I bought loads of the smaller ones in Tesco last year when they went down to 20p each in the sale! My big one is not even quarter full, but I only put in £2s and £1s. Last time I cracked one I only had £1 coins in there and when opened it has £687!!!! Nice, but takes a lot of wil power.
I sadly have cracked open several of the smaller ones in the past year as needs must (said in a very sad tone)0 -

This is basically the question I put to Martin on another thread. However, its not quite the same putting it in the bank because I would constantly see it everytime I logged in and then there is easy access. Currently I have a couple of accounts, one is for Xmas (kids pressies) which I save £75 per month into and I never touch that. The other I save £50 per month and that is for car expenses ie mot, tax, services, tyres etc and I have been known to raid that if I was a bit short. So I am concerned that if I put the £2's in the bank, I would be tempted to use it.£2.00 Savers Club = £34.00 So Far
+ however may £2 coins I have saved in my Terramundi since 2000.

Joking aside, these are some of the first things thieves will go for in a break-in...for the very reason we're all getting excited
I have thought about this and no I do not live in a second floor flat. Its a house but its fully alarmed and reasonably secure. We are also surrounded on all sides by other houses and gardens. I would be gutted though if someone pinched it, I have been saving in it for so long, I do not actively search out £2 coins, I just don't spend them if they are given to me in change.£2.00 Savers Club = £34.00 So Far

I will put mine in the bank once it gets to £40.00 then I can see it grow but pay it in the bank after a while to gain interest. I used to do that when it hit £20.00.All my views are just that and do not constitute legal advice in any way, shape or form.£2.00 savers club - £20.00 saved and banked (got a £2.00 pig and not counted the rest)Joined Store Cupboard Challenge]0

How daft (or sad) am I?
I was WILLING the shop assistants to give me £2 coins in my change - and was really disappointed when I got 4 x 50p instead :wall:
However - I did get 1 today bringing my grand total to..eerrrrr...£4!!!!20p Saver Club #33 60p/£100

Great idea - but I very rarely use cash or I just fritter it away. I bet the supermarket don't do £2 cashback!
The burglers comment - I was done many years ago when I lived in a shared house, to get to my cd's they had to go past a large teapot full of change holding open someone elses bedroom door. Left the teapot, took my cd's. My housemate was saving for an engagement ring and it had every bit of change he ever got in it so serious money.
