This really does add up amazingly fast. I refuse to ask for them though, I want to just save the ones that I get given. I'd be broke otherwise!:smileyhea "here, hare, here" :smileyhea0

You are saving your money... and...
 and..... a lot of us simply can't afford to save large sums of money. £2 coins accumulate quickly enough to make a substantial 'extra' amount with which we can treat our children, or ourselves, or even put towards household bills, a new washing machine, getting the car through its MOT, holiday spending money..... you name it and there's a use for them!
I love this thread :j without it I'm sure I would have dipped into my hoard of £2s by now, but daft as it sounds I feel spurred on by everyone else and rather like a slimming club I am having far more success knowing there are other like minded people here
and....... I got another one todayMFW 2021 No: 33 £45000/£45000 Mortgage free @ 11/6/21 🥳0 -

Hiiya,
I don't exactly save £2 coins, but what I do is every day at work, if I take my own lunch in with me, then I pop £2.00 in a box, if I buy lunch at work then I don't.
I did this as one week I realised how much I was spending by getting lunch from the sandwich vans. Then I did my weeks shopping for lunch only. Worked out how much it was, took the first figure away from the second, divided it by 5 (working days) and then I had just over £2.00.
So most days I put £2.00 away, and put £48 in my savings account on Saturday.

Only managed 1 this week, but it's brought the total to the sum of £14. I have been saving 5ps since the tiddly ones first came out.. I've not counted them but guess that there are about 70 quids worth in the bottle, with about an inch to go...... maybe I should just trade them in for the big shiny gold ones!

Another one in the pot today !
Would it be cheating to cash in the £10 of 1p & 2p i have already bagged up and change for £2 coins ? If I put it back in the bank it gets swallowed, whereas if i put it in my Teramundi, its savings i won't touch. Honest !!!0 -
This thread is a great idea.
I haven't read all of it, would just take too long but I've started saving £2 coins too and have £4 so far.
We save 1p's and 2p's for the kids and have a pot with 10's 20's and 5p's in for unexpected things (which I had to raid today when one of the dogs needed to go to the vets!)
I'll save the £2 coins to try and pay off the water bill!
Thanks :jTrying to save money to move to France.....eventually!
