Can I join too? Want to save some money to put towards LO's christening when she eventually makes an appearance. Just found 1 £2 in my purse so will start with £2. xx

HURRAY! Since seeing the £2 Coin Savers Club on MSE, I have desparately been awaiting my first £2 coin and I finally have one! So that will go into my piggy bank when I get home and I can start saving for my holiday money in May! :j

I'm not sure how this saving lark is going to work out you know...

Am trying not to spend any cash at work by taking home-made sandwiches with me but if I don't spend anything how can I get more £2 coins?!?!?!?!

You think if I knock a tooth out the tooth fairy will read this, have pity on me and leave one under my pillow?

My Choc season has started and a lot of people pay in cash and with £2 coins, so I have just written out a cheque to my cashbox and added £26 worth of coins to my terramundi. Hence new signature. Prior to that I had only received one in change. Probably because I very rarely use cash.
    £2.00 Savers Club = £34.00 So Far

+ however may £2 coins I have saved in my Terramundi since 2000.

    Terramundi weighs 8lb 5oz

Yes, but don't expect another one to grow in it's place (and you will have to spend all you've saved so far on a dentist)!

If I've not really been spending much, then I ask friends/family if they've got any they want to swap. You can always try haggling with them to get the price down or pretend you've only got £1.50 on you and pull a sad face - they might take pity on you!

Also corner shops are always after smaller change and may be willing to swap for £2's.
  • Changed my 2p coins in the bank for 2 coins and then got one in my change from the library when I paid for my audio book! I think my personal experience is that I seem to get these coins when I least expect them and so give a 'silent' whooop! :grinheart My local Sainsburys seems quite poor in the hunt ie they give £8 in change in £1 coins (are £5 notes in short supply) Perhaps the staff just don't think of the £2 coins.
  • Got 2 more today, slowly getting some now.

A+L loan but as I have already paid the intrest no point in paying it off early(dont get one) so going to save, save, save when cc paid off
