    Yes, but don't expect another one to grow in it's place (and you will have to spend all you've saved so far on a dentist)!

    If I've not really been spending much, then I ask friends/family if they've got any they want to swap. You can always try haggling with them to get the price down or pretend you've only got £1.50 on you and pull a sad face - they might take pity on you!

    Also corner shops are always after smaller change and may be willing to swap for £2's.

    Good point, think I'm a bit old to use the 'it was a milk tooth' line!
    I'm going to hit the small change jar now and see how much is in there...

    Callisto you're a super-star! I started counting my coppers so my daughter decided she'd do the same. Have just done a deal with her...£2 in 5p pieces for the £2 coin she had in her piggy bank. She now thinks she's got more cash coz the piggy's heavier and I'm feeling really chuffed!

    Perhaps the staff just don't think of the £2 coins.

    I know when I worked in a shop I didn't tend to give the £2 coins out much cos customers complained! I don't know why a £2 coin is worse than 2 x £1 coin, think it was just cos they were unfamiliar. I've taken to asking for £2 coins in my change now (naughty me :naughty: ) because otherwise they don't think to give them out!

    No more for me today but thats cos I haven't spent much!!

    When do we find out if Greenfingers has won the post of the month? Tomorrow's email maybe (which I always seem to get later than everybody else!).

  • Only one £2 coin today but every one counts.
  • you know... I am starting to think their very existence is an urban myth, and you lot are just saying you've got loads to wind me up :rotfl:

    (course, that would mean the 2 I have in my tin are imaginary, but that wouldn't surprise me either :whistle: )
    Highest Debt (Sept 04) -> £41,300 :(
    Debt Free - August 2006!! :D

  • I think I'm getting obsessed, I bought a pint of milk with a £10 note instead of change just to see if I could get one, and it paid off so I now have £12
