I use Ceramic Tech straighteners, they are pricy too, about £80 but worth every penny and I prefer them to GHDs as they have an intergrated comb on both sides of the plates which really helps. Had them 3 years and got them from a salon (sis a hairdresser, she has the same ones) If they broke I would buy the same ones again!

As we have another similar thread in the 'I wanna' board, I'll move this one across and then merge them.

Some one is making a mint out of these GHD straightners somewhere. If you dissasemble them you can see the parts must cost about £2 for some Chinese factory to knock together. Definately not that much difference parts wise between GHD and other straightners that are sold for say £10.0

I have these and have used them for the past 4 years and they're still going strong. They've stood up to all sorts, being dropped, being left on all day  (by accident) and all kinds of other knocks and scrapes.
The only thing is, they weren't much good for my sister's very curly and incredibly thick hair, only GHD's have worked for her.:smileyhea0 -
Well I've had a few different makes and i gotta say when i got my hair cut and my hairdresser straightened it with the Ghd it made a HUGE diff to my Straighteners after a month i gave in and bought a pair and OMG theya re so much better. Here's a thread i done on the cheapest way to get them. Also my mother has since used them and ordered me to get her a pair as well.
For about £64 when all said and done. Plus these are the latest 3.1v. which are the very latest models.
