To be honest I'm going to be surprised how it's going to help B&Q defence even if they are able to use it ????

A judge can overrule the site terms and conditions, it is up to them to decide what is admissible as evidence. However, I am interested on how/ if B&Q intend to rely solely on this thread as a defence. They do have a valid defence, but this is not it!

It's save to say I doubt they will be relying on a forum thread for their defence. They will simply state their own terms agreed to by any purchaser before buying from them.

That may be so Matt.
However there are Statutory Rights that a buyer is entitled to regardless of any terms and conditions they impose and I think they need testing.
I feel "Loss Of Bargain" is one of them !
Either way I'm curious to know how they intend to use a thread from a discussion Forum to make a point of law

IP address would only be available by Court Order because of the DP Act and reasons would have to be some sort of illegal activity to obtain them
Even so because of all the current cables and mobile internets etc etc I think the current figure is down to 55% for a static IP address.
Also because a post could be traced to originate from a certain location is is very difficult to prove who posted it without having access to that persons computer at the same time
