Clearance items are beginning to get pretty scarce around my neck of the woods I think - and I haven't spotted any GWPs, apart from the current No7 one, recently either. I got dead excited when I saw the gold GWP bag on a clearance stand, took it to the till as it had no price sticker on it, and SA told me I couldn't have it unless I spent £10 on No7. Ah well, never mind.

Did use a couple of skin wrinklies, and S&G vouchers, today. Also spied a No7 hydroquench night sorbet for £4 (I've not found it less than £8, even on clearance, before today) so grabbed that, 2x plum garnier movida hair dye for 67p each. Used one of my 250 point vouchers on No7 from GWP, and got a wrinklie back.

Oh, and my Roc 12-week challenge kit that I bought on clearance with a wrinklie last week, is getting chucked out - as my skin has erupted with it. Roc is just not for me  .

Just bought the P&P body serum 1/2 price £12.25 picked up a GWP to see if it would go through.
gave SA 250 points voucher from previous gwp then the £5 off P&P ACM voucher
Total to pay £7.25 and 250 points back so £4.75 in boots logic
Hope you all find this in your stores.

Just done exactly the same! After having bought the face serum with points last week my sister is going to think I'm being very generous with her birthday present!!

i thought SS was mentioned because VS was responding to something she said, if VS didnt name her it would have looked like she was making a snidy dig  which has been previously mentioned on this thread as also unacceptable

this site is like a mine field and some days you just cant win whatever you do. :rotfl:

One thought on the SA's being aggressive in their approach to vouchers, perhaps its because of the increase in vouchers being used incorrectly. Each sale is put through on their own number so it would be clear to see which SA had taken a voucher when they shouldnt. In this financial climate i would be hitler-esk in my acceptance aswell, if the numbers have to be thinned out i wouldnt want my name near the top !!

In my case I understand why verrucasalt referred to Sandra scarlett by name for clarification.

What I found objectionable was this comment what followed her name "is revered as a god-like figure here"

Now surely that is a snidy dig and was totally unnecessary.

Without that comment maybe verrucasalts post would have just blended in and fallen off the page with the other posts and not caused controversy.

  • Hi all

Not a very exciting shop today but I did notice something. There seem to be two differently barcoded mens loreal sets (both in washbags). One washbag comes up at £18.xx (!!!) and the other washbag set at the reduced price of £3.xx The SA just scanned the £3.xx one for me twice so I got two for £5.50 but might be worth checking which one you're getting!

I'll post up later the barcodes of the £3.xx one and the £18.xx one.

On a separate note - finally found a Love Notes booklet!! Bought 2 x girard perfume sets (£8.xx) and used 2 x 500pts vouchers.

    HTH :D

Also free samples being given out of Avene creams and a MOC too. Might be worth looking out for!

Thanks for the great idea - the face serum is what I'm going to save up my points for :j . I put a little from my GWP on this morning, after seeing the mess the Roc cream had made of my face, and it feels sooooo nice and soothing. Is it really a miracle worker ladies, and worth the money?

My mum has been raving about it for years and it definitely made a huge difference to her skin - much more youthful looking - i started using it about 5 months ago and there is a difference. Because i have younger skin anyway (30s rather than 50s) not sure it makes my skin look younger, but it certainly feels smoother and more hydrated

I'm 41, and suppose I'm lucky in that only in the last year or so, I've started to notice any real change in my skin. Its definitely not as even-toned now, and can get very dry and quite blotchy-looking in places. Time for some damage limitation I think !

I'm not sure yet whether it works. I've been using it for a couple of weeks, and I think my skin is feeling softer, although I keep getting odd spots on my chin, and I never used to get spots.
I'm going to keep going for another few weeks as I thought maybe my skin is just adjusting (and they are not bad spots). I hope it works as I have already bought another tube of serum...couldnt resist using my £5acm p&p voucher and getting another gwp :rotfl:
now has her .com delivery but doesnt know where to put it :o

I'm sitting on the S&G fence (or am I on the "S&G-gate" ?), but I must admit I hate it when people are unnecessarily personal and hurtful on here. I lose all respect for someone's argument when they are nasty about someone. VS's argument was valid until it turned personal.

    Totally agree.
IMO this is the friendliest thread on MSE & somewhere to 'hang out' with like minded people. The fact that it has such a warm & welcoming atmosphere gives newbies & shy members alike the confidence to participate in posting, which unfornunately through personal experience, i've found other Boards/Threads don't have.
