So glad your Dad coped OK Mimi, and happy to see you're feeling better about things, as you seem to have been in fine Boots Flouncing Mode today! Glad our mass prayers helped.
Regarding the OP who wants to swap her lippy, well they can only say "No". If I see a 488 GWP tomorrow, I'm going to try to change one of mine, and waffle that I've heard that you can tell the colour by the number.
And I'm also taking this disgusting P & P Lip thingy back. Can't stand the artificial vanilla-ish taste and smell.
And my new Cashmillon (poor man's cashmere) jumper from M & S, is going back, it has the most awful pilling on it.
DH has just informed me that it is snowing heavily, so quite possibly I won't be doing any of the above, but will otherwise employ my time practising my eyebrows with hairspray!
DD and DGD2 coming in the afternoon, and we're making a gingerbread house. Got one for each DGD in the 75% sale - OK at £3.75, but who would pay £15!!!!!
xx0 -
has anybody tried the Girard sets? they are three or four smells, but dont know which is the best?...
usually i like levander. ive seen today the flowery one, but it was too smelly
I sniffed several of these instore and can't say that I liked any of them. I'm not keen on perfumes that aren't a known brand as I find the fragrances are never quite right.
Saying that though, alot of people seem to be buying them so I guess it's down to individual choice but for a few £'s more I would prefer a known perfume!0 -

Off topic and snipped!
Sandra let me know how it goes with the gingerbread house, I got one in Ikea for my niece but have yet to make it!!

Right from the first time she did them there was a vast improvement and can I also mention that she does threading on my upper lip as well as the odd hair that spouts from my chin!
Oh this really ticked me... thanks for the great laugh :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
BTW I have the opposite problem, if mine were threaded, they could be used as ropes to tie up the Mersey Ferry!!!!!!!!~ What goes around comes around ~0 -

Hi, from another Glasgow Bootser :hello:0 -
hello!
just back from a norwich run --
anglia square had radox @40p bogof but only a lavender one ;(
also had some HE still but they were putting clearance stickers on them @73p (to try and stop the points?) till lady still accidently scanned mine on the back so points went on:j
castle meadow had no he or radox, but had king of shaves ultra hybrid shave oils @ 98p / shave serum @61p - radox deodorant sprays @25p some baby food jars @20p and other bits and pieces.
castle mall had no he or radox, there was a sel where the menexpert set should go @£3.58 but no stock.
some random model me stuff around £1.20-1.50 going through with the t&g 150 points voucher.
i also ended up with 3 p+p £5.00 vouchers and 2 girard £5 worth of points from the love notes cat.
If anybody wants theese please pm me, (p+p has my name on) p+p valid till 24/2 and girad till 20/2.
I did the Norwich run on tuesday so sorry, I might have left you with not much to collect!
The SA's in castle mall were nothing less than spectacular! I'd phoned up and had their last 14 HE's reserved for me, but when I got there, the lady filling the shelves said there was more in the stock room! I ended up buying 38 bottles. They were put through the tills in nice blocks of just over 5 quid to get the haircare vouchers and the SA's were accomodating in letting me buy two model me shampoos with one voucher leaving just 44p to pay. Also got radox gels, palmolive and dove gels and a few deodorants so all in all a great store and totally superb service!
Also went to anglia square and had a few herbals and some other clearance, mainly nivea gels and radox gels, but a few other oddments like the mango and pomegranate shower bags. Various other clearance stuff in London St, chapelfield and riverside too! Total haul of 45 HE's and cleared the card down to almost nothing buying all the other clearance stuff!
Headed off to another part of the world today and got another 29 HE's taking my full total to 219 HE's and so much clearance stuff I can barely get in my spare room!
Shopping doesn't often come along this good so worth taking advantage when it does. :T0 -
my boyfriend has just let me know he might be getting a new job...in Boots! hahahaha
planning what to spend his staff discount on, anyone know how much it is?0 -
SandraScarlett wrote: »Thank you for all the wonderful tips that you have given regarding my Plucked Chicken eyebrows. Obviously we have a fair number of more mature ladies here, or, as I fondly think of us, Old Boots!!!
Why oh why did I keep plucking all those decades ago?Why didn't I listen to my Mum when I was 15 and she said "If you wear those ridiculous winklepickers, you'll have bunions when you're my age"?
Why did I ever say to my DD "don't worry darling, you'll never catch me wearing elasticated skirts or trousers"?
I am so easy to spot when you're all out shopping. I wear elasticated trousers, tucked into my boots that have to be wide fitting to accommodate my bunions, and my hat is pulled down to my nose to cover my missing eyebrows!!
But I'm always smiling!
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: + always keep smiling xxx:hello:
