How do you go on with Sky if the property concerned doesn't yet have a BT phone connected?
Do you have to get the line in first or can Sky arrange it?
And if they can, is it beneficial to let them do it, instead of contaqcting BT and doing it yourself?
The property I'm thinking about, being one my daughter might be about to go and live in, has not yet had BT do the £125 initial telephone land line connection.0 -
Thanks so much Nikki, great deal0

It is usually a 12 month contract.0

We are with Sky on a similar package to yours, but we stayed with BT for line rental "just in case". It's £10.50 per month (charged quarterly) As long as we have 2 calls per calendar month through BT - which we do by dialling 1280 as a prefix - we get our CallMinder, Ringback and 1471 / 1571 services for free. I'm not sure what they would cost if we didn't - £7 a month would certainly be quite a lot.
The 2 calls can be a short as you like as long as you remember to do them. (I have written 1280 on the 1st of the month in my diary to remind me)
...hope it goes on working as kids will now kill me if I cancel Sky. (also I've become addicted to Mock the Week repeats.......)
I had a BT line put in to have Sky. I asked for 'line only' and I pay £10 50 a month with paperless billing, no extra charges. Think its about £11.75 for the line if you have paper bills.

thanks doc proc, i am in the same situation. I have gone through and read about something costing £25 for them to do something manually, but i was a bit confused by it.
This would be a fab as channel 1,2,3 and 4 are quite frankly awful.0 -

Please note you're not allowed to post codes on Grabbit anyway.
You are if the Grabbit itself involves a code - this offer is essentially a Grabbit rather than a standard discount code, and a good Grabbit at that! Thanks to the OP!0 -
Thanks Jag, i think you do need a BT line too by the looks of things but does anyone know a cheaper way rather than have a BT line. We are happy with the Sky price but i don't want to pay BT when i wont even use the line..... i don't need or want a phone line.0

You can pay Sky for line rental which is cheaper than BT and Sky may even pay the BT connection charge for installing a new line.
I can't see any way you can get Sky Broadband without either having a BT line or a Sky line rental.0 -
My brother wants to take this offer up - new customer - he has a phone connection in the flat but has never used it so if he does this offer and has sky will sky reconnect it?? (does that make sense??)
If you think you are too small to make a difference, try getting in bed with a mosquito!
