I like Jamie's recipe best mostly because you don't need to poach the fish so the house doesn't reek of it for days. It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0

Hi I like the look of Jamie's recipe but as we are trying to cut down on fat I'd rather not include the cheese (and I don't have any at home). Do you think it would still work? Obviously it needs something liquidy to form a sauce of sorts - I have natural yoghurt. Do you think mixing cubes of fish (I have salmon, coley and smoked haddock in freezer) with grated carrot , tomatos and lemon juice with a few spoons of natural yoghurt would work? Should I leave out the lemon juice? (not sure if it will curdle the yoghurt or not?)
Edit after trying - used fish and carrot mixed with natural yoghurt, chilli and lemon juice topped off with 50/50 mashed potato and cauliflower. It tasted ok but the 'sauce' just seemed to disappear so it was rather dry.Cash not ash from January 2nd 2011: £2565.:j

Hi Olds,
Listen, my housekeeper makes the best fish pie ever, its just so creamy and fishy. I look forward to it every Monday when she makes it (my wife works away)
I am kind of resigned to the fact that at some stage we will lose her (the house keeper, all staff leave at some stage) and my fishy pie
Just wondering if anyone has a recipe, not just for fish pie, but for creamy lovely mouth watering fish pie0 -
Why don't you set up a secret webcam and film her making it.... then you can sack her and make your own.0

Or more to the point, why not just ask her for the recipe? Say you were telling some people how much you enjoy her fish pie, and they asked if you could get the recipe because it sounds so good. A bit of flattery will go a long way!
No need to make up a big complicated back story - you have told us on here about it, and I am sure we would love to see what she puts in it that is different from ours! The one I make is rather nice, but I wouldn't describe it as unusually creamy or mouthwatering! It is quick, easy and tasty - because I cheat! lolTrust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0 -
Its the topping that does it, so crispy , plus the underneath is really moist0

I've got a Jamie recipe for fish pie, but I doubt it'll be up to the standard of your housekeepers. Think you'd best get the recipe from her. Don't let her leave without letting you know how she cooks it0
