Help - just made an exceptionally yummy fish pie with variety of fish, cheese sauce and mash. The only problem is that it seems that the sauce has curdled slightly during cooking. I think it did this last time as well. Anyone have this problem? I have been making white sauce/ cheese sauce since I was a kid, so I know my technique is right...Man plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0

Hi
I made an Annabel Karmel (seemingly the goddess of baby food!) fish pie for my 1 year old. It includes salmon, cod, milk, flour, bay leaf, onion, tomato, cheese and potato. It doesn't say that it can be frozen, whereas other recipes of hers from the same book do.
Does anyone know of any reason it can't be frozen? The recipe makes 2 largeish ones so I did freeze the other one but am now unsure before I give it to my one year old ...
Many thanks in advance!0 -
No reason at all why it cant be frozen.
Lucky baby, i could just eat it all now.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Thanks for the reply McKneff.
I don't eat fish as it makes me sick but I am keen for my baby to. He seems to like it which is great - but quite a lot of faff for just a one-off. Far better if I can make in bulk and freeze. Fab!0 -
Ah, OK another question. It is frozen in foil in a tupperware box (the size of a sandwich). Obviously it needs to come out of the foil but how would you heat it and for how long?
Thanks again!0 -
Hi jo,
I would reheat it (covered) on a plate in the microwave to stop it drying out until it's piping hot. Then let it cool a little before you give it to your little one.

Or....my mum would leave it in the foil and reheat in the oven. Also make sure its thoroughly defrosted before reheating.0

Don't know why it doesn't state that it can be frozen. If it had hard boiled egg in it as fish pie often does, it shouldn't be frozen so maybe it just hasn't said that it can be frozen in case you had decided to add an egg to it?Grocery aim £450pm.Spent £519 August, £584 July, £544 June, £541 May, £549 April, £517 March, £517 Feb,£555 Jan, £573 Dec, £465Nov, £561Oct, £493Sept, £426Aug,£496 Jul, £528Jun, £506May,£498April, £558 March, £500Feb, £500 Jan, £490 Dec, £555 Nov,£566 Oct, £505Sept, £450Aug, £410 July, £437 June, £491 May, £471 April, £440 March, £552Feb, £462Jan0
