Appologies to anyone else who may have been offended...I was only messing, but do gooders get on my , well, you know what!!

Don't think it's me that is getting wound up here ... or the one that now looks pretty stupid! :p

Now just wait a minute! I think I explained that I was only joking in the forst place and explained my stance. I empathise with all but it seems to me that peaople like yourself and the recipient of my previous posts have serious confidence problems.

I am not immature nor am I insensitive, I was just posting a knee jerk reaction to a thread that i stumbled upon, that being, can I get a free washing machine!!

It is you that is immature and obviously suffering with a perspective issue. I am sorry that you are suffering with ill health but, if you can spend your time rather articulartly constructing a reply such as the one you have posted , then use that tallent to make your own money...a friend of mine has a very serious illness and recently had his leg amputated....he still works, so can you!!! So spend less time telling evryone of your troubles and feeling sorry for yourself and do something about your current situation..God I can't believe that a minor remark has led to this...but I am used to managing 200 people, I inspire them and if i can dom the same to you...fill your boots. Sort your issues and don't use scape goats like me!!!!!

Make your claims to the tax payer and I am sure they will be paid but don't facilitate your short comings to me. I was truly just light heartedly posting but it seems you people have issues with yourselves not with people like me.

So if venting your rubbish my way helps you with your problems, feel free, but don't look too deep into ryhme and reason. you will only make your problems worse.

I WAS ONLY JOKING AND HAVE EVERY RESPECT FOR PEOPLE WITH PROBLEMS. BUT, GRANTS ARE NOT THE ONLY SOLUTION, SOME SOLUTIONS ARE HARDER BUT IN THE LONG TERM MORE REWARDING.

I don't feel sorry for myself,i feel very lucky that my problems aren't worse actually but i do feel sorry for you since you have no actual perception of what my illness actually prevents me from doing yet still think you can judge if i am well enough to work-who died and made you the in house doctor?

I dont give a stuff what you think i should or shouldnt be doing-you say you were only reacting to the post but you clearly have a sense of having to feel superior by assessing the life of someone you don't even know.

Mate. I sincerely wish both you and your Dad all the best, I got drawn onto this rediculous discussion by people who have no understanding of reality. i hope your dad gets better soon and that you have not taken direct offence from my coments. They are directed at the few not the majority.

I haven't taken offence, my friend, I feel the same way as you sometimes too. On this particular board though we're under "special rules" which maybe folks who occasionally pass through don't appreciate. Seriously, don't worry about it. Sleep easy.

It is not easy in some places to find a launderette that is still open these days. Agree with the suggestion to try Freecycle.

you too seem to have short comings. Claim your money..I am happy for you. I am not judgemental I was reacting in a rather sinical way to a post that I thought was seriously unbelievable...a washing machine!!

I salute your husband for paying taxes all these years, so has my father...he does not take hand outs, My husband does not take 'handouts' either. He retired on Health grounds after many years of being a schoolteacher and now has a health-related CONTRIBUTORY benefit (which means he has paid enough NI) he had his own business and worked all hours god sends to provide a viabal business that was both succesful and one that employed other tax payers..good ones!...he saved hard for his retirement and gets taxed on it!!! alot!! MY husband pays tax too on his Teachers' Pension and all the while morons like you take his money, money from when he was fit and well, now he is not so great...you still get to live the fruits of his labour...does that make you feel good. Do you feel a little more confident now?? The next time you take your money I do not have any State Benefits just realise that some of it came from people who are and have served this country in Afghanistan and some has come from the pensions of an old man who worked all his life to better himself..and some has come from people who have spent many years struggling with ill-health in a profession they usesed to love - educating your children .and it now seems to buy your washing machines...Get a grip !!!!!!!!!!!!Neither I nor my husband have ever had any money from anyone to buy a washing machine nor any other household item.

You people really do not understand how the hard working responsible people of this land think...do you..you just rely on us to bail you out. We have both workead all our lives and not claimed State Benefits. My husband took retirement on health grounds when he was 55 and gets a health-related benefit for that Well I must admit that I never thought a knee jerk post from me could give me such an education as to the state of this country...A minority who demand all for little in return. I hope you enjoy my money. I worked hard for it. So did I I nearly went bankrupt last year but worked to sort it out..maybe I should have followed your lead and got someone else to sort it for me!!

No wonder this country is in the state it is when a senior citizen condones handouts over hard work.
I am not quite a senior citizen, yet :rotfl:

    See my comments above.

I am not condoning anything, all I was pointing out is that we have been requested by the BOSS not to make judgemental comments on this board.

If you wish to discuss it, I'll happily do so in Discussion Time.

. May be we have developed a generation and then some that default to the easy route of self pitty rather than a bulldog spirit of days gone by.

Like the easy option of becoming bankrupt you mean instead of facing your debt problems?

    Just a thought

Oh but I do work sweetheart. I work 2 jobs as a matter of fact. And I would be happy for any tax money I pay to be able to help anyone out.

Strange that you were facing bankruptcy, so were obviously up to your eyes in it, and yet have no compassion or empathy for someone who is in a tight spot. Strange and sad really.

:D That tickled me. Martin Lewis is not my boss and quite frankly, a hand tapping from anyone that works on MSE has no effect on me whatsoever.

I say what I want to say and have learned that if it is considered inappropriate then it will be deleted.
  • I did say REQUESTED, not ordered! Whether you chose to comply with his request is, as you say, entirely up to you.

And I meant boss of the forum, not my boss or yours.
