  • I just got my first mailing from GC's PC's <mail@gcspcs.co.uk> informing me of some sweet 'Birthday Mega Drop Deals' -- the email goes like this:
    Dear Mr xxx,

    Thank you for your ongoing custom to GC’s PC’s and helping us keep so successful in the last 3 years. To
    celebrate this, we have some Mega Drop Deals up for grabs on selected products and ONLY for the first 4
    customers for each product. These prices are fantastic offers and we are so confident you won’t find
    cheaper elsewhere, if you were to find it cheaper elsewhere, we would of course beat the price for you.

    Below are all of our available mega drop deals!
    ...how can I resist?
  • Just tried to process a fake order for £9.99 and a message comes up saying the value of the order is high (it actually says: "the weight of the order is too high!!!!!), hopefully this means that the Google Checkout facility has been pulled. He then invites you to telephone him with your card details.

    Never, ever do that: the thief will sell your card details on to his fraudster dad, his mum Sharon Matthews and those pesky Nigerians.

    I just tried, and it took me to Google checkout. I have never used Google, but their continued relationship with this site has put me off from using them in the future.

    In fairness to Google Checkout, you may have been taken to their site, but they don't appear to be processing any orders on behalf of 'GLC Group Ltd'. They confirmed that this was the case on the 3rd April. There is also no Google Checkout badge within Google shopping search results for GCSPCS, which stores accepting Google Checkout display.

    I think its safe to assume that they are not allowing GCSPCS to use their services. A few people seem to have contacted Google, and may soon be able to confirm the information I've been given.

    Just for a laugh, please find below the email [Name removed by Forum Team]
    sent to Google when they first suspended Google Checkout back in 2008. I particularly loved the bit about him willing to spend at least £500 in Google advertising with a company that turns over £100 billiion.

    Try this one out because the dispute level was too high'. before
    trading they accepting that there may be complaints because of delays
    on orders!:
    I was also prepared in April 2008 for the new tax year to completely
    switch over to Google from PayPal but I have now lost all hope.

    Look at the list!
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~They provided no warning just like you~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I have had no reply in 12 days (i was only ever replied to once
    anyway)
    I have contacted them numerous times including an official letter
    headed response through the post that was also emailed to them many
    times.
    10 staff (of which 7 are parents) are now at extreme risk of being
    unemployed and having to look after their families
    The state of the UK at the moment needs spending and not things
    stopping it
    We have thousands of customers who are willing to purchase
    We were paying over £1400 per year in fees and planned to invest at
    least £500 this year in advertising with Google
    They had been informed we use a tracked ticket support system and not
    theirs. We gave feedback that there needs to be an online console
    where the conversations can be tracked like ours at
    support.gcspcs.co.uk
    The contract only starts when money is taken! (Distance Selling Act
    2000) a huge flaw in the system
    PayPal give you a chance to redeem yourself
    I am offering to pay, if the account is opened again, over £3,000 for
    which the account is in debt (the company is limited in liability and
    has no money in company bank accounts so the debts cannot be paid any
    other way) - I AM OFFERING TO OPEN BACK UP, ONLY CHARGE WHEN GOODS ARE
    SHIPPED AND REPAY THE DEBTS OUT OF MY POCKET
    I offered to work as hard as possible to resolve all disputes! ( now
    done anyway)
    The money made is spent on child education! Not luxury cars etc
    I cannot see my family lose their life too. Please please help me and
    I would love to remain an avid customer with many successful years to
    come between both GC's PC's and Google and I would love to remain a
    member and be a part of your success.
    There is a law against not talking to customers.
    Do you really think this is acceptable?
    I like this little gem from his email :-
    There is a law against not talking to customers.
    Wasn't he doing exactly the same thing by barring people from his website (and removing all telephone and email contacts from that website) ?
    What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?
