The fact remains it was regarding a product they had secured by another route and had not been arranged by that advisor, what is a client's meaning of technical!
You don't know if it was regarding the product, it could have been about anything like 'what is the difference between daily and annual interest' or some thing of that nature.0 -
Quote " A couple weeks back I received an offer for the renewal of our mortgage deal from the Halifax but I was curious about something"
It was most certainly relating to the client's mortgage, as it was on receipt of the offer that triggered the call0 -
Quote from post 109: "I didn't phone up to discuss the deal at all. I called to ask for a technical clarification on the difference between reserving a deal and actually confirming it."0

Really, I'm not bothered about this particular incident.........I am commenting in general..........So many of you are taking such risks, (in the hope of picking up business here I guess) I can't think of any other reason than chasing business, otherwise why bother posting you are a adviser. Does your PI cover you posting on here? You may think what I am writing is utter nonsense, test it, go and ask your compliance departments/insurers tomorrow morning. Tell them you're not giving advice but do use a signature stating you're a adviser. I understand some networks have even taken such steps as prohibiting advisers from such acts. Just because you have a disclaimer doesn't exempt you, otherwise why publish you are an adviser.... so much is bordering on advice. You are not 100% anonymous, an adviser who regularly posts on here, did so on another website and was traced back through his email address. A complaint was made regarding the "advice" he had posted, thankfully for that adviser it was not upheld. Is your signature a "financial promotion" as you can be contacted direct through the PM service!!! that said.........some of you aren't even whole of market advisers i.e. a regular authorised by Mortgage Next! and then.........some of you aren't even advisers!!........then payless uses his company name!!
... by the way I don't use my main company name on the forum, however yes it is one word from one of my trading names.Any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0 -
Oh everyone's come out to play!0

Also from post 109: "The Halifax staff were telling me that as long as the deal was reserved it was quite safe and I could confirm when I like, allowing me to jump on a better deal if one arrived before the start date. The key facts paper work was saying the opposite."0

Ashley, With all the respect in the world, pls don't tell me anymore.....as you are just confirming my first thoughts, you actually did require the help of an adviser regardess of whether they arranged it or not. Ashley, all the advisers can post on here & say of course they would help.........In an everyday environment believe me they wouldn't be so alturistic........Pls advisers dont even bother protesting & challenging this.........0

that said.........some of you aren't even whole of market advisers i.e. a regular authorised by Mortgage Next!
Feisty1, you are showing your complete ignorance of mortgages and compliance now. I'd shut up and disappear if I were you.
I am an Appointed Representative of Mortgage Next Network and I am A Whole of Market Adviser!
I was one of the first Mortgage Brokers in the business and I was asked for advice in setting up the Mortgage Code Compliance Board. I don't expect you to know who they were, but they were the predecessors to the FSA as regulators of the Mortgage Market.
Some of the rubbish you are coming out with is truly cringeworthy and I really do hope that the majority of Mortgage Advisers left in the business, don't think in the same way you do.I am a Mortgage Consultant and don't like to be told what I can and can't put in a signature so long as it's legal and truthful.0 -
