I think Smile are part of the co-op, so I assume the same £85 limit as mentioned in the first post applies.

    Cheers, Des.

I've been doing test fast payments over the week to see whaich was best way to transfer money to and from new halifax account.

online £200 from Nationwide to Halifax - 4 working days (I didn't know that I should of done it in batches of £10)

online £50 from Lloyds to Halifax - next working day

online £150 from Halifax to Barclays - says 2 hours done within 5 minutes.

in branch £350 Barclays to Halifax - was told it would be within 3 working days as it was after lunch (done within 15mins - well the time it took me to get home and check online)

online £400 Halifax to Llyods - transfer was done today within 30mins but Lloyds online statement shows mondays date.

So my best option at the moment for instant access to money is Barclays to Halifax and Halifax to Barclays. Reading other threads on this matter others it looks like the best 3 are Halifax, Barclays and HSBC.

Yep, transfers between my RBS & Bank of Scotland accounts never take more than the time it takes for me to log off- load other bank website and log on. It is really superb! Transfers to Yorkshire and Skipton Building Societies also only take till the next morning. Some other banks and Credit cards like Citi take 3 days!
