Love the shadow box..................how do you do one of them -never done one before

The mini softies piccy has only just loaded up for me..........love them ! Where do you get the patterns from or did you just make them yourself ? And could I do them by hand, blanket stitch round the edge do you think ?

Hi mary. I made the tree one and the lonely dollop (looks like a poo :) )from a template in a book but I made the others from my brain. I used cheapy felt from hobbycraft and embroidery thread and just tacked them together and turned them inside out, felt is very forgiving!

The shadow box was from home bargains though I haven't seen any in there for ages. It is like a frame that you can open from the front and means you can use 3d embellishments etc. I just thought of it as a scrapbook frame.

Glad you like them, pictures on here have been a long time coming!

    Hello everyone,

Stardrops – I absolutely love your purses, they are gorgeous and look amazing.

Sian – I love your recent makes too, especially the baking hamper gift tags, they are beautiful.

I won’t duplicate a message I have posted elsewhere, but just to let you know that I have posted on the Christmas 2009 thread, about:

    - Multipack buys that would be good for baking hampers
    - Decorating cheap notebooks for journals
    - Multipack nail buffers that would be good for pamper hampers
    - Ideas I am working on to organise my present buying and making

I don't know if this will be of any use to anybody but this is a tutorial for making a post office bag for those who sell your crafts to make it easy to carry packages to the post office especially if you are juggling a buggy at the same time....http://www.elsiemarley.com/post-office-bag-tutorial.html

I love this idea too, sympathy dolls ,the sympathy doll idea is to make a doll that is so sad and pathetic that it inspires empathy and love from people. You really can't feel too bad around these dolls because you just know that no matter what, you don't have it that bad! They do not have to be made as animals they could be based on the Dammit dolls and I was thinking they would be good for Teenagers and all their associated troubles and woes......

Maybe with a rhyme something like this:

When you are lonely, frightened or sad,
If you feel different, neglected or mad,
If you feel you deserved more than you had,
No matter what you don't have it this bad!
Yell at me scream at me give it a go
Tell me the secret you want noone to know
I am the friend when you feel really low
Who if you must, you can throw!
I made this up on the spur of the moment, probably needs tweaking but you get the idea.

Thanks! I got this book out of the library and used it as inspiration to start with.

I like making them as they are cheap and pretty quick and you can make them into little keyrings or danglies for your rearview mirror or just pop into a box/hamper etc :D
