misses had same story as many here, applied online about 3-4 weeks ago, got letter last week saying she had to contact them in 7 days, or they would assume she didnt want it no more.
After at least an hour finging 7 different numbers, she managed to talk to someone who offered her 2.7k no bt fee, which she took (intend to try and raise if poss) - and did the bt over the phone to her sbt card..
Strange thing is, she didnt get the cc agreement til this mornings post, so if they already done the bt (will be checking carefully all week) - they will have bt'd without her signing!
hmmm....hope she doesnt forget......
very poor customer service here, only useful for the no fee bt, will be donating some of the profits made out of this stooze to the charity of the kid's family who topped himself over a recent dispute with this bank, appalling way he was treat>
We should all stick it out and stooze this company to its knees.
thats only my opinion and hey, we all entitled to one in the good old u of k.

Hi All
I have a HSBC card. I've had it for a while and it was easy, but maybe because I have used them for other things (they used to be a good business bank, but not anymore!)
My Mint card 0 percent finished so I called HSBC and asked them what they could offer existing cards holders on a balance transfer. I was told something silly so said I needed to close it. The person took me right through the cancelation process and then asked me again if I was sure. I said that unless I could get the same offer as new customers I had no choice.
I just then happened to be passed onto some one else! They then said they would try to help and would call me back. 1/2 hour later called me back and offered me a 0 percent transfer with no fee! No re application either.
I tried ny luck then with Mint as I have some money on a Barcley card which has aso finished. It didn't work! So I opened another card elsewhere and cancelled Mint. They said I would be considered new in 8 months. Just in time for HSBC to finish.
So I have never had a problem.0 -
A word of caution to any readers of this forum :-
Like many of you I applied for the c/card on 11 Dec and to cut a very long story short received my card 28 Jan, but still don't have a pin number for it.
Prior to receiving my card I twice queried with HSBC why it was taking so long and was given scripted replies. Nothing new in that I hear you say, but I have since discovered that each call to them has resulted in them making multiple credit searches to credit referenece agencies, so I now have 3 searches on my record for the one application. This WILL have a detremental effect on any further credit applications I make with any financial institution, so if this story sounds familiar then I'd advise you to check your credit references.
I have pointed the error of their ways out to them ann am now awaiting a response !!!!
There are currently other cards out their offering 0% terms. I would advise you to opt for them and give HSBC a very wide berth.0 -
Dam HSBC, I am half way through an application which I started on 21/12 and only this week they have asked for extra copies of bank statement, utility bill etc. Seems we are all having problems with them.
The credit search thing is worrying as well. Puts me off calling them. Stupid thing when I called them and was transfered about 8 times between departments the goon on the end of the phone said that my application was sucessful and I had a £3K limit. This was before they wanted extra details!! I only have about 4 weeks left on my current 0% deal then I have a problem although only a £1200 debt!
Where else can I go for a 0% deal with no BT fees?
Thanks0 -
I went into my local HSBC branch yesterday & applied for the card. Showed proof of ID (Passport & Dr.Lic) completed the process in about 25 mins including my balance transfer. The only unusual aspect was that I was told (after confirming with two colleagues) that I could not set up a Direct Debit as I did not hold a HSBC bank a/c.
I've never come across that before anyone else been told the same?0 -
Finally got my application to sign today and they also want a recent payslip and utility bill.
But, I am a bit concerned about the section that says:-
"Total Charge for Credit £216.33 - An illustrative aomunt of interest that you would pay if you used your assumed £1500 credit limit and repaid it over 12 equal installments"
What's this all about???
I just want to BT about £1500 and pay it off before the 0% is up therefore costing me diddly squat........Can I do this?
Thanks0 -
Don't worry, as they quote it is JUST an illustration and will not come into effect unless you you are in debt to them and not clearing your balance each month. It will also depend on your debit balance.
