I placed an order with Boilerjuice for 900 litres of home heating oil on Friday 18th December 2009 and I paid for it at the same time with my debit card. When I placed the order it was supposed to be delivered within 3-4 working days which means I should have received it on Wednesday 23rd or Thursday 24th December 2009 but I didn't. I telephoned the suppiler on Wednesday 23rd December and was told they would deliver the oil on Wednesday 30th December but it didn't arrive. I telephoned them that afternoon at 3pm and I was told that the oil was out for delivery. Then 2 hours later at 5pm, the oil still hadn't been delivered so I telephoned them again to be told that the driver couldn't get it delivered to me. I was then advised it would be delivered on Tuesday 5th or Wednesday 6th January 2010. Yesterday morning at 10:15am we received the first telephone call from the supplier, it was the driver, asking for directions to our house which we gave, the driver was approximately 14 miles away when he telephoned and said he would be with us later on in the day. Then when he hadn't arrived by 5pm we telephoned him and he said he was a mile from the house earlier on in the day but the road didn't look good so he would deliver tomorrow. Today at 1pm when we hadnt heard anything from the supplier or the driver I decided to telephone the supplier again and I was advised that they would not have a lorry in my area until next week. I have had no oil since Monday 28th December and therefore I was lucky to have an open fire which has been burning night and day since Monday 28th December.

There is another supplier who has delivered to me before and they said they would deliver to me tomorrow at a cost of £396  but I paid £353.54 to Boilerjuice. How can I get my money back from Boilerjuice? BTW I have attempted to telephone Boilerjuice but they are not taking telephone calls and you have to leave a message, therefore I have emailed them.

The company who are supposed to be delivering the oil is Nicholl Oils. It will be the last time I order from them because they never contacted me once to tell me when they would be delivering the oil or to say there were any issues with delivering it. Their driver contacted us once and he said he would deliver yesterday and didn't then said he would deliver today and he apparently isn't going to, according to the office. What I find strange is that as far as he was concerned he would be in the area today and would deliver the oil today. I must get my hubby to telephone the driver to see what area he is delivering to today!

What a useful post! I presume by your posting that you have not read Martins' message about posting on this website.

What is wrong with ordering oil a week before Christmas? When I ordered the oil it was not "after bad weather" as there had been no bad weather at that stage.

Absolute drivel! I ordered the week before Christmas and had delivery the following day, as per usual.

They're too busy delivering too Translink to be bothered with individuals probably. I'm sure they wouldn't want to lose such a valuable contract with Translink paying very over-inflated prices.
