Yes thats what he said, I have read about veneers and also those surface fillings where they file the tooth down and paint on some dentist stuff (dont think thats its technical name)

Maybe I should just get them all out and get me a set of brand new gnashers:D

Believe me having them all out is just the START of dental problems.

A veneer is a good solution because it means very little damage to the tooth, you shave approx a millimetre of enamel from the front surface, take an impression and the correct shade which is all sent to the lab, hey presto two weeks later they bond a very thin porcelain veneer to the front surface of the tooth!

  • Cat,
When I was pregnant with DS, I routinely showed high glucose and made frequent trips back and forth to the WANDA unit-I never actually ended up with GD, but probably very close. Remember DS was born over 10lbs but tbh, he wasn't that hard to push out! Honest! (no jokes here about wizards sleeves/donkey's yawns etc please) and he was dreadfully healthy! lol

    morning all -

nowt exciting going on here... but then i like a quiet life!

y'know not going to running club last night was great, Erin was at brownies and big g was out so i had almost an hour and a half to myself... y'know what i did... i tidied up! but it was a very productive tidy as noone was in my road.... and sadly, i feel so much more on an even keel domestically and no guilty mother syndrome. So goes to show that going to runclub on a monday is more hassle than it's worth....?

    Does that make sense?

I will continue going on a Wednesday, as it's not a night for other things and doesn't involve rushing around n stuff....

ahem, and telly is good on a monday! corrie/eastenders/corrie/unforgiven/biggest loser...
    lol!

Maz, I have to say since going on to the CD diet my whole day has changed...I used to get up at stupid o clock and do my day backwards, housework in the morning work, come home, make tea, slob for an hour and then bed at nine....

Now, I get up still at stupid o clock to some but 6.30 is a lie in to me. Then I still do a couple of bits but don't feel like I am chasing my tale and stressing like I was, go to work do work, then home and then I potter about till nearly eleven some nights....I am astounded! and just goes to show that my crap diet was making me really tired at night.......

Even if I don't lose weight that in itself has been a welcome difference

  • If you're private then they will probably charge you for missing the appointment and not book another unless you pay the charge.

If you have a good past track record of attending they may not charge if you have a geniune excuse, I'd get them phoned up as soon as possible!
Right now actually - then it's done! That goes for the rest of you too! sally, Ames etc

First one to report back with a bonafide appointment gets a gold star!

I havent been to the dentist for about a year, I had a retainer when at school and it damaged one of my front teeth, cut off the blood supply so I have no feeling in it (root is dead so can bite into an ice lolly no problem)

This tooth is more prone to staining, which is starting to bother me but according to my dentist my choices were.

    A. Drill into the back of the tooth just to check that the nerve is actually dead and if I jump off the chair its still a bit alive.........................Errrrm NO!!!!

    B. Use anathestic but if blood shoots out of my tooth then he will have killed the nerve off anyway.....................Fluck OFF!!!

Surely there must be another way to sort this bloody tooth out? I just want it whitened !!!!!!.

I was OK with the dentist discussion until this... made my legs feel funny
