But as a business you would be stark staring bonkers not to take a lower cost offer. And this applies equally to the building trade, and other semi skilled / skilled areas. For IT and other back office functions 'they' don't even need to come to the UK to perform whatever function is required.

I do sympathise with how workers are being shafted by loss of jobs, and earnings power, and how our businesses are suffering from foreign competition. But I don't see a solution other than being better and working harder / smarter.

The days of "one out all out" have gone for good. Was it on here I read that when workers were threatening a walk out over possible redundancies the company (JCB I think) said fine but can you make it at least eight weeks out please.

I'll stop for a while now. We all have different angles on this, most of them completely valid.

I have not heard any Slipknot other than possibly a few clips on the TV. Tool have been introduced to me recently and Motorhead a lot less recently and I am more fond of the latter to be honest...
