hilary1 wrote:excuse me seeming thick also but how do you know you will be overcharged unless you buy the items first?
also I bought mars bars for 1.18 as was on the shelf and didn't see a sign that said 1.05 so what am i doing wrong?
you don't!
the idea is, you go in, and when you get overcharged, you tell everyone else about it so they can get it free
you are doing nothing wrong, if there is no sign / SEL saying that its cheaper than you've been charged, there's nothing you can do!money saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

Dudes,
Went back to Tesco Quedgely today - (I had major problems there with a R&R about a week ago - posted earlier in this thread).
Anyhow, decided to test the water - this is not my usual Tesco - must have had less than 10 R&Rs at this store over the last few months.
Purchased £20 of normal shopping - threw in a cheapo CD that was reported as being wrong on t'other thread.
Paid - charged too much for the CD - went to CS - no sign of the lady that gave me such a hard time last shop.
Also I paid cash and no clubcard.
Served by CS lady 1 - she must have served me 4 or 5 times in the last months - can't for the life see how she could recognise me - she's always done R&Rs without any BS.
Offered to show her the offending SEL - now then - as she walked around the desk she tried to whisper to a colleague (CS lady 2) "It's that man" or "It's one of them men" and asked her to "call Fred" (not a real name - be cool mods!! - but I know he's a manager from last time).
CS lady 2 blushes furiously and runs off.
Anyhow Duder and CS lady 1 go the CDs - I point out the SEL - fine - lovely jubbly back to the CS desk.
She then takes an age with the receipt - also makes a very one sided phone call in the middle of all this (i.e. person at the other end was doing all the talking) - couldn't really make out the context.
Then she smiles - gives me the CD and £1 difference.
Before I could barely get "Up there it says 'If things don't add up'" out of my mouth she replies:
"Oh yes, the managers (yes plural) are coming down to talk to you".
Fair enough - told her I wanted to buy something at the ciggie counter whilst I waited.
Meanwhile CS lady 2 has by now returned - whispering to CS lady 3 as I'm waiting in the queue.
Queued for 5 mins - bought some gum - then stood in the middle of the main entrance.
Butch Cassidy and the Refund Kid.
I've got CS number 1 still smiling away at me.
CS number 2 blushes when I look at her and make eye contact.
CS number 3 is now off to one side with yet another colleague, whispering away - furtive glance at me.
2 managers have appeared - 1 security guy loitering and looking awake.
I raise both hands (Tesco shopping bag in each) and say loudly but nicely "Well?" - whilst trying to look everyone in the eye - no one responds.
So I walk out.....
So what in the name of all things Holy is going on - I left no 'purchase trail' - i.e. used cash and no clubcard.
I bought loads of other goods to mix in with my single CD worth less than a fiver.
And it's not my usual store.....
Comments welcome, particualrly from any Tesco Dudes on this thread.
Cheers

Dude - no - I took the £1 offered.
Then waited.
Given the amount of Tesco staff that had appeared I had visions of being nailed to the big Tesco sign outside the shop as an example to other R&R Dudes.
Decided to exit the store - like I said I was testing the water - hence a single cheap CD.
But yeah - felt like the Tesco mafia were on to me - but I can't understand why or how (in context with my first post).

hi people, just come back from the Longton tesco extra after having quite a heated argument with a snotty customer service woman. i bought a will and grace series 7 dvd which clearly stated underneath that it was £11.97 which i know is cheap but just thought it was a very good offer. there was no description along with the price and it was not just a single will and grace dvd there was 10+ so it was not just put in the wrong place. i bought the dvd and it went through as 39.97. went straight to CS to tell them and she went and looked for the price. after 5 mins she came back and said it was number 18 in the chart and there was only one left so must have been put into the wrong chart number. now this is wrong and i showed her that there was loads of the dvd and showed her this 11.97 SEL to which she said oh yes that is wrong they must have put the wrong label on it. she then went on to notice that the SEL description was covered by a big NEW sign and that it wasnt will and grace at 11.97. i told her this is very very misleading and that where there were other copies of the dvd there was no price so there was nothing to say the price was wrong
does anyone know where i stand? when we went back to the desk i informed her of the policy to which she said that is when the description is the same as the dvd. but there was no description! and to anyone walking past it clearly looks like all copies of the dvd are 11.97. i asked another cs staffmember where i stood and she said she didnt know but then when she spoke to someone else in the background i heard her say that she would have done an R&R because it is clearly misleading.
the bad thing is that the moody cs woman was really snappy with me and when i asked her if she could ask head office she said that they would do nothing and that i had to pay that price or have a refund to which she scanned the dvd and said enter your pin for a refund! and she put the dvd back in the back.
i usually stand my ground but she totally phased me and i didnt know what to do, i am now thinking of ringing Head Office but because i no longer have the dvd anymore and have been given a refund i dont know what to do. i have the reciept to prove the price i paid but that is it. i am sure that she cant be right and there are rules about misleading customers.
can anyone help me?
thanks for any responses0 -
