Bunny I am having an incrediably selfish debate with myself about work tomorrow.

I would go with saying one of the kids is ill?

    you can't help that.

May I please have a selfish moment and ask some advice of you guys?

Im feeling pretty darn pants with this cold I have-not the flu I had in Dec by any stretch but !!!!!! ty none the less and really need to SLEEP-I am obviously still in my probation at work and wont get paid if I'm off sick (which I can ill afford) Is it better to just stick it and go in, take the day off sick or say one the children are ill????

sorry-I hate to whinge when there are so many worse off then me. :(

i think you should call in sick with whatever reason you feel appropriate, and you should use the day as a bunny go sleep/rest etc etc day.....

easy for me to say, i've never had a day off in my place in 2 years, they aren't very family friendly and they aren't a sympathetic bunch......

in fact, i ws first to be sick, a few others got it after me and they all took sick days.......! pah!!

Ah thanks you guys, nothing like a bit of an ego boost. And yes I am sure my baby bro is far too young for all of you ;) He's only 22...bless!

Bunny, you can't help being ill but I can understand your concerns about taking time off whilst you are still in your probabtionary period. I think I would be tempted to phone in and say one of the kids has got a sickness bug

Bunny I would struggle in to work and sit and sniffle and sneeze until I got sent home.
Depending upon how child friendly they are, having young children can and often does go against you.

  • Ok, going to put my selfish dilemma

My hamster really needs to be put to sleep.

I should have done it saturday but what's done is done

Question - do I phone in sick tomorrow and take her
or do I phone and say I will be late cos I am taking her to the vets in an emergency?

I did it before for one of the rats and they were okish about it but I did get a "talking too" plus which every one will know why and think its really funny and thus I will get the !!!! taken all day.

I could lie and say I am ill but come in?

    descisions

of course the one big sway is the amount of marking I could finish if I stayed home.

    any one?

bun I dont think i would use the kids as an excuse either...lots of people really hate that. I would just be honest with them and tell them how awful you feel

Bunny do you suffer from hay fever, I do but not in an extreme form, but I get it at this time of year I appear to be allergic to tree pollen, and yes there is some about, many of the trees that produce catkins flower at this time of year.

Today I have had all the classic symptoms, itchy eyes, sneezing, feeling grotty and headachey. Just a passing thought.
Woofles you need to get out of that house. You are going insane:eek: - colinw

apologises for spelling mistakes - google toolbar and I have had a hissy fit and I've lost me spell checker.
  • do you know how "child friendly" it is bun?

I mean at our place parents are given lots of lencieny (can't spell) for their kids? (which is good obviously) so most people are off cos of their kids? if that makes sense

    xx
