    Hello all:D
Glad you had a peacfull day AnWsMum and hope happy memories were to the fore.

Have done DR now, only place needing my attention is the hall and the stairs - goodness knows where I got the vim and vigour! Even done prep for Friday errand.
So IF I spend 15 mins now on hall and stairs I can draw line under it, have tomorrow for work prep, and sheet/bed changes and slob on Saturday - better still spend Saturday afternoon in the bathroom getting ready for Saturday night...like I used to in the olden days :rotfl: because I am going out for a Thai meal with my pals.
Towels are in machine ready to go on a 60deg wash tonight. All today's washing has been ironed:D I will put it away tomorrow when it has aired.
    Thanks for the praise Toots

Hugs to AnW - I'm new to this thread but am most impressed with the love and support you are receiving. I donned some yellow this morning and have thought about you throughout the day. I was walking the hound dog on the beach and thinking of how much strength can be sent via the web to people we have never actually met. You are all such a lovely bunch!!

I returned to work today and will be back teaching new lessons tomorrow so should be doing some research for that. Have set my timer and set to in the bathroom with impressive results. Also managed to clean the windows, sort out the washing mountain and celebrate my DS's 8th Birthday.

The biggest miracle of all - my OH is beginning to put things away behind himself and has washed up twice this week. That beats the previous year so it's working. Love and hugs to you all.

Well, have spectacularly failed to get lift off this evening. Nice neighbour called a few minutes after I posted last in a stressed state. The old f@rt upstairs to her has been giving her grief. So I went over and let her get it out of her system. Poor love.

It's very sad in a way. Nice neighbour is 72 and bright as a button, still works 4 days full time a week. She keeps her downstairs half of the house pristine and pays for a gardener to keep her garden in trim (the same one that does mine).

But, upstairs, there's the old f@rt and his nice wife, (a couple of years older than NN). The nice wife, unfortunately, is now in the middle stages of Alzheimer's and doesn't know if it's day or night or Monday or Thursday. He looks after her. Social services, we think are happy he looks after her because it's saving their budget.

Trouble is, he seems to be getting more and more dangerously doolally as the weeks go by. How do we get the Mental Health team to do an assessment? Anyone got any ideas?

There, that's off my chest. I'll go and try and fly a bit whilst preparing lemon chicken..

    Hello all

Been thinking of you all today AnW

Hell of a rollercoaster day for me! After sleeping through alarm going off twice and DH having to shake me awake I got to work late which isn't a problem. Difficult day mainly as I was exhausted and a bit weepy, poss PMT but hard to tell as I don't actually bleed on this pill! Had a difficult meeting with my direct boss (not the nightmare one) about how to do a presentation tomorrow morning. In the end i'm doing it on my own, which is fine by me. She seems to have given up on the project and doesn't seem to care any more, which I find hard as i'm not like that - I always give all I can to things. Left work later than intended after meeting and missed my intended train by 3 mins, then the next one was cancelled so all in all I had a 40 min wait in the yukky cold station. However DH did dinner so all was not lost. Was another 2 hour journey.

However, more importantly had some good news: DH passed his exams, in fact he got brilliant marks and got the top mark in the world on one paper and has therefore been awarded a prize!! Am very proud of him!

Tonight I have to do a bit more prep for presentation tomorrow, and will have a bath & wash hair as I have to leave earlier than usual to get there. DH has washed up so my flying/jobs plans include:

    bath
    lunch for tomorrow
    print pics for presentation
    email colleague

soappie - I can try and find out for you. do they have any children/relatives who visit? I'd think about contacting age concern for advice as they will know how things work

Gsysezz - happy birthday to your DS (I have major problems spelling your names and had to check it THREE times!!! so please excuse me if I spell it wrong - i've lost my brain cells!:rotfl: )

Soappie - your poor neighbour. I don't realise how lucky I am with my neighbours, we get on with all of them. No-one lives in each others pockets but anyone could call on anyone for help.

I've got to muddy children coming home in about five minutes so I need to run a bath for them. Another load of washing i'm sure.

    Speak later xx

  • gysezz Happy birthday to your DS!! Nice tohear OH is helping - that will be good for everybody! take care honey!
soappie poor NN what a nightmare for her - I would have thought that SS will already know about the lady so a phone call to them expressing concern (unofficially IYSWIM) would possibly help get the ball rolling - as Rach says Age Concern are very good at stepping in too.
Rach Good luck with the presentation tomorrow (I'm sure you wont need it) and as you said its a pity this manager has 'given up' on the project - hard to cope with that! How wonderful for DH huge Congratulations to him - all that hard work has paid off - you have every right to be proud!!!

I am being good and lazy at the same time - I am tired but wanted to do some flying so I am doing all the computer bits while sitting here and keeping an eye on the thread!!! so it will be something less on the list soon.
