mudbath - I used to work for the church although I'm not ordained...now I work on a walking project so it's a bit different! I have a lot of contacts in the mental health field though as we work a lot with people with mental health issues.

However, more importantly had some good news: DH passed his exams,... Am very proud of him!

Soappie - I can try and find out for you. do they have any children/relatives who visit? I'd think about contacting age concern for advice as they will know how things work

Rach - well done to your DH! You have every right to be proud of him! Make sure he's proud of himself too! Hope you have a better day strength and travel wise tomorrow - am sending you coping vibes. And I know you'll do your best for the presentation etc. tomorrow night.

And, if you could find out anything, it would be great!

The situation is a bit difficult children wise. They have an adopted son and daughter. The son lives in America. The daughter lives about 100 miles away. The son, clearly, because of his location, can't do much. The daughter could do a lot more but doesn't!

If there's a problem, she phones NN to ask her to sort it out. Not Fair! Tonight's crisis involved two things. One, a phone call from the daughter to NN saying the son had called her from America saying Old F@rt was buying a steam engine. Now where's that going to go?

Seems OF is spending the money he borrowed from his sister to go on a cruise which never happened rather than pay the sister back!

Coupled with the fact that there was a girt big and extremely heavy industrial type lathe in the porch when NN got home, NN was extremely stressed. OF told NN he was going to take the lathe upstairs. This, of course, worried NN big time - the fact it was too heavy for the floor boards above her head (I tried to move it without any success)!

But, whilst I was there, OF phoned NN and said that the lathe wouldn't be going upstairs after all, it would be going into the garage. So the worry of the ceiling coming down has gone, but the worry of where the caravan that's in the garage will go has re-surfaced!

    Gawd, it's worse than Eastenders!

We still haven't got to the bottom of the steam engine yet!

But, the chicken breasts should have defrosted by now so I'll set to with the dinner

Right, so I wasn't a million miles away, kind of! Good luck with your presentation tomorrow xx

Pollybear, I also paid that for one pair of mine! I like Kaz's idea, tell him to go find better!
    Tia! ;) Remember, CBA! :rotfl:
soappie, I've had a similar issue, we contact the peoples GP to alert them. Their GP called out and arranged stuff from there, depends how good the GP is aswell I suppose. We managed last time as there was only 2 GPs in the area, we wrote to both and left a contact number.
Rach well done to your DH. Honey you have my every admiration for what you're putting up with from work and transport to/from x
Positive baby coming soon and safe to your sister Pigpen!
toots thanks for the advice, I think you might be right. I also now after looking think I need a larger desk diary. I didn't buy one this year. I haven't opened them as that is a commitment to start (ok I read a little online) and I want an action plan before that.

Well that makes sense and my life more complicated. I have tutorial dates. All Saturdays, most of them on the same day as the ones for the other course. GREAT! This means I can't go to part of one (ones longer) even if DP can sort so he can be in/awake. OU must have got a block booking discount or something! I'm going to email the tutors once their contact details come through, I can't find any other local tutorials but going to ask anyway.

DSs in bed, not asleep yet but will be going back up to see in a mo. I've got meeting tomorrow and a visit to DPs Grandma to try to fit in, her 75th birthday and won't be forgiven if I forget. Meeting is 10-1 so going to try to get out early. I doubt I will be able to leave there before 3pm so I don't know where I am going to fit in any flying/cleaning/sorting during the day, I think I will have to just try to squeeze a vacuum in before I leave at 9.15am then do the rest on the evening.

Tomorrow needs to be more organised so I am going to plan dinner (this meal planning lark ain't worked for me yet this year) get DSs stuff out ready for tomorrow, get meeting stuff ready, make DS2s lunch (DS1 having school dinners again as they are getting him to try new foods :D ) sort dog out, feed Woody, fill DW........
One day I might be more organised...........

Really tired, but just wanted to say hello to Miss A and W and Mum. My daffodils look very pretty on the kitchen windowsill!

    :T:j:beer:Huge congratulations to Rach's OH.:beer::j:T

I'll do the list tomorrow...as well as the weekly shopping, and maybe squeeze in a little trip into town. I need black socks - have absolutely no idea where mine are...

Nicki - I've just read and very much enjoyed Kate Atkinson's 'When will there be good news?' It's one of the Richard and Judy Reading Group latest selection.

I think the thread looks extrremely springlike all in yellow - even if I now have to read all the names to see who's who - and I agree about the fabulous support.

pigpen - thinking about your sister...

Children home, showered and in bed. They were totally full of how fantastic it was and DD (who's normally VERY quiet) came home telling me how many friends she's made and how one of them adores animals like her. It was lovely to see them both so happy.

So, food done, showers done, I need to do some s/s ing around the place (that sounds a bit odd!!!).

Frodders - how is your arm now? x
  • Soappie - if he is buying an industrial lathe, and a steam engine it really does sound like he is losing it. This does not sound like a rational person! I work as a carer for the elderly, and from what you say it does sound very worrying. I would contact the daughter and let her know, and also write to the GP if you know which one they go to (if not, try writing to local surgeries). Age Concern is also a good route to go down as they have a lot of resources and can arrange various things. Hope that helps. Well done for being so concerned and wanting to help, lots of people are afraid to get involved and its nice that you care. :T

Well done nothing really even though I want to, I'm too rubbish at the mo.

Endured my slimming world class because

    a) I don't want to stop the focus

    b) wanted to pretend I could do something normal for a little while

Anyway managed to stay until the end despite being told to go home because I looked dreadful by some class members :o. Main thing is I've lost 1 1/2 lbs so pleased about that.

Rach ever so chuffed for you re your DH, great news.

Soappie I think the GP suggestion is great and also the Age Concern, dunno if this area covers it but you may be able to ring and get advice http://www.ageconcern.org.uk/AgeConcern/fs6.asp

Pigpen ooooh it's happening hun, ickle baby time, much 'easy birth' vibes being sent to your sister.

Polly excellent curtain bargain, well done :T

Gsysezz happy birthday to your ds.

Anwsmum and Miss A and brother W sending big squooshy hugs to you all. xx
