To be honest most retailers I know are focusing much more on used cars than new cars.
The reason for this is if you want a new Ford you phone 5 dealers. All have access to the same car and eventually someone gives it to you at cost +£100 just to do a deal. No money in that game so they dont want to play anymore.
If you buy a used car then chances are that the spec you want, with those miles and that colour, there is probably only one car like that in 50 miles and the dealer knows it too. Hence he can make a bit more money.
Earlier comments about Avonmouth being a car park are 100% spot on. So retailers and in particular car salesman are focusing on the front of their lot rather than the showroom.
Might be a £100 deal but what about the add-ons? Gaps? Superguard, finance commision etc. Also quarterly targets met = £Tens of thousands.0 -

It isn't obvious but you must be - £25 cost for 16 months driving excluding petrol?
Like to see how easy it is to match!:rotfl:0 -
I just got a bargain:
05 plate 307 1.6HDI SW, 96000 full history. Service printout shows four new tyres at 93k, clutch and flywheel at 90k, ABS module and EGR valve at 89k so hopefully no expense due in the near future
On the forecourt at £3495, part exchanged my OH's 04 Punto plus £700 cash
The Punto cost us £4795 4 1/2 years ago
So he gave us £2795 for the Punto, so the Punto has cost £37 per month in depreciation0 -
Where do you usually look when wanting to buy a second-hand car?
I ask as I'd like to sell my 1991 Peugeot 309, which is in good condition, but just not sure how to advertise it best. I'm based in Salisbury.
(Have just bought bf's sister's old car, hence wanting to sell mine)0 -
