due to go BR, mum buying me car for work?

Hi wxmlad - we're a few miles up the road from you! (follow the A55 to the coast!)
You need to include the running costs of your car on your SOA as it is essential you can get to work. It is up to the OR after the BR to decide if these costs are allowed or not - but knowing what public transport is like in sunny north wales, it would probably cost you double if you were to be with out car!
There is a section in your SOA if you have use of a car that does not belong to you - if the car is purchased pre-br, you could fill this in, but to be safe, i would get your (very generous) mum to hold on until post BR.
Please dont get upset by one persons negativity - you are trying to your best to stay in a job, and knowing your car will be taken, you need to plan ahead.Number 001 of 2009! :T0 -

hey
im in a little village on the A5 about 24 miles from wrexham towards bala but not that far up. so nearly 50 miles a day to get to work!
There is a 94 arriva bus but it stops at a bus stop a mile away form the village ( i would have to walk a mile up the main road A5 to the bus stop), then its another hour bus ride. Ive got the bus before, and there is nothing worse than being half way up the hill and seeing the bus shoot past! there is no other bus service. (it is in the middle of now where - for example we dont have mains gas, freeview or even channel 5 on terrestrial lol, oh and less than 1meg broadband! )
If i had to rely on the bus, id be sacked within a month! lol
The CAB have told me to raise funds for the BR , not to pay my car PCP.
monthly it looks like this:
PCP £225
PETROL £ 150 (keep my receipts to prove this)
PARKING £50 (have docs from work who subsidise our NCP parking from £5 a day to £2.50)
tax £17
maintenance/mot £25
Insurance £ 55
 ( had my car keyed all round by parking in side streets trying to save paying for parking , ended up with £1100 of damage and lost 2yrs no claims, hence my new high ins:rolleyes:

I defo wouldnt rely on Arriva, especially where you are!
We are a bit luckier here - we at least have sewers and running water :rotfl:
But seriously, hold on until post BR if you can.
We stopped paying everything prior to the BR to save for fees etc - but will the finance company take the car sooner if you miss payments? you'd need a contingency plan for this in case. We had nothing on HP, so have no experience on that one sorry!Number 001 of 2009! :T0 -

so should i just put everything apart from the car PCP on the SOA? EG:
PETROL £ 140/150 *
PARKING £50
tax £17
maintenance/mot £25
Insurance £ 55
and then a few days after court get my mum to get the car? :embarasse
* 280 miles per week @ 85.9p litre , (use 40 liters a wk) 40 x85.9p = £34.36 / £137 per month maybe little more
averages at 31.82 mpg (hope fuel prices dont rise was putting £50 a week in the summer:eek:)0 -

you are not the first to get on the wrong side of broken heated's posting extravagances (why i do not know) her thinly veiled threat about checking the paper is nothing short of unhelpful and rude.
you are going about this the right way and securing your income for the future
i applaud you for getting to grips with this now
please may i remind our ever helpful broken hearted that this is a help and support forum, not a have a pop at someone night
ther is plenty of trolling on any other night!
please stick to the facts (and as i am sure you are aware you do not seem to know a basic piece of information that i am sure most of the bankruptees on this site know about credit because we have to live with it on a day to day basis) if you do not know an answer please dont make one up simply to upset a bloke trying to piece his life back together
make it a large glass please and come back when you are ready to be supportive and helpful.

if you are stopping paying and know the car will go, then yes, leave it off.
Have a look at public transport costs, and see what the comparison is to your car running costs.Number 001 of 2009! :T0 -

the bus is £5.50 a day return, however i work flexi, so i either have to drop little sister off at school or pick her up due to my mums rheumatoid arthritis she sometimes has trouble driving on bad days, plus she works p/t so we work it around that, so it could involve using 2 or 3 buses due to arriva buses only running every 2 hours! so it could cost £10 a day! plus id need car for other things outside work0 -
You could put on your forms then that you need a car to help out with your mum etc, it depends on the individual OR whether they allow it or not.
Im assuming you would be under Chester OR? They seem pleasant enough when we have spoken to them so far, but we have our phone interviews tomorrow, so will let you know how we get on with our cars.
I take hubbys housebound nan to hospital apts etc, and do her shopping, and have put this on the forms, but it just depends on the OR on the day i guess
