due to go BR, mum buying me car for work?

Im due to go BR in Feb, I currently have a ca on HP which will have to go back when I go BR.
due to the location of my work I do 280 miles a week to get there, so I obviously need a car. My mum has recently got a loan from barclays for a few home improvements and said she would buy me a car for £2.5-3k . It will be registered to me for insurance purposes and i will pay for mot and maintenance , but she will have paid for it her name on receipt etc, out of her bank account,
Will this be allowed via the OR?
Also she said she wants £25 a months off me to pay for it !
or is it best for her to have it registered in her name to??
what will the OR check?
thanks

Suppose its one way to cheat the system.
You should be able to find the money out of the excess you have but as you arn't allowed to owe anyone you would be in breech and could end up in trouble.Barclaycard 3800

I'd wait until after BR when your HP car goes before your mum buys it, then you won't have to answer to the OR at all. But yes, let your mum pay from it so it's clearly from her account and the receipt is in her name.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

Unless of course they find out then you would. Why encourage someone to break the law, support is one thing but this is another.peachyprice wrote: »I'd wait until after BR when your HP car goes before your mum buys it, then you won't have to answer to the OR at all. It isn't breaking the law, OP's mum is allowed to buy a car for them to use.
And you're quite wrong thinking you cannot have credit whilst BR, you can have up to £500 without disclosing you are BR, over that you can have as much as you like as long as you tell the person you are BR, and I'm sure OP's mum already knows that.
Which is why I said wait until after BR, then it's all perfectly above board, and totally legal.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
