            There is nothing wrong with your mother buying the car before or after the BR. They will be retaining legal ownership, no matter who is the "registered keeper".
 The only issue the OR might have is the running costs. You would have to justify them as being necessary for traveling to work and reasonable in that light.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

 No going bankrupt is now the preferred route.perhaps i should just leave work cause i cant get there without a car and go on benefits, seems to be preferred choice at the moment, seeing as i actually work in the jobcentre it wouldnt take long!Barclaycard 3800

 you DO NOT know the circumstances for my BR at all! I have not spend ruthlessly no gambling, widescreen tellys, fast cars, foreign holidays, dodgy business investments or any extravagance, infact I have nothing now!
 the decsion has not been an easy one to take at all, I dont even want to go BR and wish i didnt have to i feel depressed and ashamed at 26 yrs old. i asked a simple question, about a car to travel to work in (50 miles round trip a day) and you came back with nothing but sarcastic comments0

            just a few points
 - the OR will allow you to own a vehicle if it is essential for your work and is of low value probably 1,000 - 2,000 is OK
 -the OR will allow the costs of runnng a car if car is essential
 -there is no restriction on what you use your income on after bankruptcy as long as you pay the IPO ... so there is nothing stopping you pay your mother £25 per month (or anything else for that matter) its just that you have to take it out of your spare income.
 On the matter of whether you can take out credit while bankrupt: the following is a quote for thre National debt line
 http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/england_wales/factsheet.php?page=01_bankruptcy
 and says
 Bankruptcy offences
 Whilst you are bankrupt it is a criminal offence to:- take out credit of more than £500 without telling the lender you are bankrupt;
- use a new business name without revealing the name you were made bankrupt under;
- act as a director of a company without permission;
- act as an insolvency practitioner.

            wxmlad - if you job is far away then you need a car to get work.
 What the OR will assume you will do is that you will go out and buy an old banger.
 So include reasonable mainentance costs for an old car (that's a lot more than for a newer car, MOT, car tax etc etc, and the cost of your petrol) in your SOA.
 If a friend/relative/anyone else is willing to provide you with a car (instead of you buying the old banger of a car) after you are bankrupt and you pay them back then that's fine, as long as they're aware of your situation.
 All the best.Indecision is the key to flexibility 0 0
